I turned 40 so long ago, I can't even remember what I did.

Mine is this winter. I will probably have friends come over to help make deer sausage and drink beer.

Went to Vancouver / Whistler for 4 days.

I would recommend Whistler for a kid free trip.

Here's how i ended up being a 40 year old MaDeuce Gunner:
I joined the Army late in life. I turned 35 one week before I graduated AIT. I was promoted to E5 a month and a day after I turned 37 while in Kosovo. Turned 39 while on the initial invasion of Iraq. PCSed from Ft Stewart to Baumholder, Germany when I returned from that deployment, and went straight back to Iraq. Turned 40 on my 2nd Iraq deployment. I was the Ma Deuce gunner for both of my first 2 Iraq deployments. Promoted to E6 about a month before the end of that deployment. Turned 42 on my 3rd Iraq deployment, Turned 44 and 45 on my 4th (and final) Iraq deployment. I had a really crappy travel agent.

That was 28 years ago. Who the hell remembers?

My dad and I are big Star Wars fans so we did a voyage on the Galactic Starcruiser at Disney World before it closed later that year. It was definitely a bucket list experience and I am so glad I did it.


For my wife's we are renting a place in Mexico for a couple of weeks and having friends come visit/celebrate.

I remember when I was 40

Went to Playa del Carmen for Hubbys 40th then 3 years later we went back for mine.

Scanning through the thread and had to do a double take at this

Made an eye examination appointment. The morning I woke up I already needed prescription glasses.

"Lordy Lordy look who's 40" parties are nice but the real reward is spending it with your spouse and children.

Don't remember. It was 30 yrs ago.

My dad came down from Wyoming and we hung out for a few days. I would have been sad otherwise about how things turned out.
