Short night's sleep, but a beautiful day coming up in west Georgia/east Alabama.

A good day starts with good coffee.

Make it a good one in spite of what the rest of humankind is up to.

Slept hard but woke up 45 minutes before alarm and tossed and turned and slept in little bits before my alarm went off

CT's have the fish wearing spurs for Arkansas. Let's see someone try to ride a razorback and dig in some spurs and watch how that goes

In the office. I haven't been home much, but my neighbor texted me that he'd smelled gas outside and called Piedmont - they came out and found a leak on my meter. Yay.

• I know I did, but sure didn't feel like I ever fell asleep last night. Slept on the coach.
• We are going through a bathroom remodel. Things are a little dusty. We watched tv in bed, but then when it was time to go to bed, I felt like I was swimming in dust. What was weird is I didn't notice it at all when watching TV. That's why I moved to living room. It finally dawned on me that when I turned on the box fan that points directly at my side of the bed, it likely was stirring up dust I couldn't see.
• SO after they all leave today I'll be washing the linens and doing a dusting/vacuuming.
• Sonic for BF. They had a free "Salted Caramel Toffee Iced Coffee". It's pretty decent. BUT I couldn't combine it with the half price diet coke.
• Fairly quiet day hopefully, so playing some catchup and working on reports.
• Travel is insanely busy! One more sale and I'll have beat the combined Aug/Sep. Booked a cruise and all-inclusive vacation last night and have about 6-7 quotes I need to finish up.

All the trips to softball tournaments are making sense.

Been getting angrier and angrier about the fact that I can't get the District Registrar to return my contact attempts. I'm out $25 for the PSAT that Benny couldn't take yesterday because of this, and I can't register him for an AP exam next spring.

I'm thinking I will email her a third time on Monday. I'll tell her how disappointed that I am she didn't return my phone call from <date/time> or my emails from <date/times>. I'll explain the problem again, and I'll CC every member of the school board on the message. Maybe I can shame her into performing a basic job duty?

His mother's passing has nothing to do with this woman's incompetence and unwillingness to do her job.

I'm not a fan of leveraging tragedy to make yourself more of a victim when reality is this woman's failure is unacceptable, regardless of the status of a student's parents.

I don't disagree, but if you are trying to get people motivated to do something, you have to use it. Quite frankly, this is something both Benny and Dabo are still mentally dealing with and this is just another issue they have to deal with.

It's important in that this young man needs people to do their jobs so he isn't having to deal with yet one more thing not going well for him.

Former employer had another round of layoffs, including at least one member of my former team. Not a great time.

On top of the bathroom remodel happening:

• Having to call a plumber out because they couldn't get the water to turn off to the toilet - it just keeps spinning and started leaking. So our water is shut off for now waiting on a plumber
• Noticed the AC panel in the hallway wasn't on today (but the other 2 are). So now we have an AC company out to fix it.
• They are drilling and making noises in the bathroom.

Doggo is NOT happy.

At this point I'd start CCing the state board of education, etc. as well.

I've written the email that I'll be sending on Monday. It was cathartic. Who knows, maybe she'll reply to my emails (or phone call) between now and then and it won't be necessary to send?

Why wait until Monday?

It's disproportionate in comparison. You've had the worst thing in the world happen to you, you lost a parent, missing a test just isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.
