• Fiance got to meet my kids this week and it came out really well!
• Pretty decent time for my 8K run yesterday, last practice before the race on Saturday
• I'd be amazed if I cracked the top 100, really I'm just racing against my time from last year
• Other weekend plans are pretty much just an early Halloween party but the group putting it on is a pretty wild bunch
• We're doing a couples thing - pilot (her) / flight attendant (me)

Dog declined walk, preferring to sit outside in 43 degree weather. Working from home, doing laundry. Some home organization stuff getting delivered today. Need to figure out my winter projects.

Random happening:

I got a toll in the mail yesterday from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. I drove a 60 mile stretch of turnpike on the way to/from Tanya's funeral. It was for $21. Back when they had humans taking money, it was something like $4 per trip.

Might have to buy a "PIKEPASS" before I make that trip again.

We don't have toll roads in Missouri, and I didn't realize tollbooths were a thing of the past. Probably a good thing, but I consider my $21 bill to have been excessive.

We have paid express lanes and toll roads here in Colorado. It's probably worse here on a per mile basis.

Finished watching "nobody wants this" season 2....the ending sucked

Took my 7 year old to the school trunk or treat last night. The best costume was a kid dressed as Trump chasing another kid wearing a Mexican flag poncho wearing a sombrero.

Best thing was that I didn't see any parents dressed up in a stupid costume getting candy, but we were there early.

If you knew my ex, you'd understand. While the custody battle she initiated was dismissed we're in a sort of quiet cease fire. We felt like this was the safest way to go, although the kids knew I was serious with someone already. Also, the kids are still little (1st / 4th grade).

They had a great time meeting her and my ex got to talk to her and ask her anything. It was entirely uneventful and Mr Awesome told me he was looking forward to seeing her again when I dropped him off at the school bus this morning

I watched Navy Seals vs Zombies on Starz. I wasn't expecting much, but it was *awful*. I want that those 97 minutes of my life back.

You expected what exactly?

I was hoping the Navy Seals would add something tactical to the movie and maybe some high-end weaponry. Nope, just scene after scene of "shoot the head."

It was filmed in Baton Rouge, so I had a fun time with some of the landmarks. That's the only positive I took from the film.

Watching a doc on the Mafia in Philadelphia. Mob 'associate' mentions cooking a favorite dish for one of the bosses. I Google it to see if it is an actual recipe, and there is a video of him making it on YouTube as the Kitchen Consigliere. Still debating whether I'll try it, it's basically a spicy version of pork and beans.

I have a friend who is a diehard Swiftie, so she explains the meaning behind all of the songs she likes. I also watch with the lyrics on, so they make sense to me.

I couldn't name a Taylor Swift song nor would I know one if I heard it. They don't play her on classic rock.
