Realized I'm not positive and AI/Internet is giving conflicting answers.

The unit is a whirlpool that came with a white wire already attached to the green ground screw in upper left. I have a 4 wire power cord and my understanding is that I needed to take that white wire from the ground screw and piggyback it on the center terminal with the white wire of the power cord. Then the green wire from power cord goes to ground screw.

Is this correct? I sent this picture to chatgpt and it's telling me it's wrong.

What was your prompt to chat gpt? I think it might be getting confused with a 3 wire vs 4 wire cord.

My degree was mechanical engineering but it looks right. I don't think the link works.

Red and black can be switched but green goes onto the BODY of the dryer and White in the middle.

Looks right enough for me. Red/black don't really matter if they are switched. White and green are correct, and the red/black are where red/black should be.

This was revolting.

Neutral and ground together was the old way. Caused a lot of issues when the electrical code changed and dryer circuits had to be GFI, caused lots of tripping issues. Keep the ground on the body
