Has there ever been a collection of bigger stars in a group? George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison were all super stars in their own right, and it seems they just wanted to get together and make great music with no egos getting in the way.

When I first saw that video many years ago I had no clue about Jeff Lynne. It's just crazy how successful he's been as a song writer, producer, and musician. I watched a documentary a few years ago where Paul McCartney was proclaiming the greatness of Jeff Lynne.

No wonder why I always loved ELO.

This video is about the making of their first album in 1988. Would have been incredible to have been a fly on the wall. It's amazing how laid back all of them are considering how many albums they've all sold!

I didn't appreciate them back in the day, but they have really grown on me.

I still think it is crazy how Orbison was considered the elder statesman of the group, even though he was maybe 10-years older than the rest of them and only 55 when he died. Granted, Orbison looked "old" by the time he was 30.

The rocking chair with a guitar on it for Orbison is a nice touch.

This will make you feel old.. but it also might make you think you look young. because I DO NOT look as old as bob or George here. Or jeff for that matter!

And I'm 53. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure every one of these guys was a smoker (believe George Harrison quit before his death).

I blows my mind watching the video I posted above, and these guys are all smoking in a room full of $5k and $10k guitars.

George did quit smoking when he got throat cancer. Then started again. And then quit when he got lung cancer.

I thought Roy was old in that picture, and I am now 57.

There was an A&M football history video that was sold in the 1980s called "Hulabaloo Caneck Caneck" (available now on YouTube). I thought the Junction Boys were old when that came out. I watched it again recently and realized I am now older than the Junction Boys were when that video was made

They were THE supergroup. 5 superstars of the industry all just having fun. And maybe the biggest of all in Dylan took a back seat.

In 3 days time you have won the impossible trifecta.

You hate the Wilburys. You hate Roy Orbison. And you hate Tijuana Fries at the Chicken.

Congrats on being on that Mt Rushmore. You can pick up your award with your HungerBuster.

The album was recorded at his house.

Dave Stewart, of Eurythmics fame, played a key role in the formative days of the Traveling Wilburys, that 1980s supergroup featuring Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Roy Orbison.

...back in the late 1980s, Harrison was living in Stewart's Encino, California, house while working on the Lynne-produced Cloud Nine a thrilling comeback for the ex-Beatle, who had been mostly involved with producing movies throughout the 1980s. While working on a B-side for single from the album, the Traveling Wilburys were born.

"I was kind of the host/virtual member," Stewart tells Music Radar. "They recorded it all in my house. I put Dylan together with Tom Petty … George Harrison was living in my house in Encino at the time. Everybody met up there."

to be fair, the recoding of handle with care and the formation of the band did happen at Dylan's house.

That was a refreshing time period as these "get together" groups put out some of the best music at the end of the 80's into the 90's. The TW's, The Highwaymen, and Texas Tornados. All very good music by pure artists of their craft.

This was the 1st VHS I ever watched on our brand new VCR in the mid 1980's.

We got a VCR for Christmas 1984 (7th grade for me). I was the last kid I knew to have a VCR, but I have no idea what my first tape was.

In March 1985 I placed 3rd in fundraising for my school's "jog-a-thon" and won a VCR. Now we could copy the movies we rented!! First movie I copied was "Caddyshack."
