My family owns McQueeney Hall in "downtown Mcqueeney".

I think Marion is bigger than McQueeney, they have a high school. My brothers went there.

I miss the old Hot Shots fish fry that was on lake McQueeney.

Lots of good times at Hot Shots, especially the Friday night fish fries.

Spent a few summers at my grandparents' place in Ivanhoe, TX growing up. Most of that side of the family moved up the road to Elwood. Nearby towns were Telephone and Monkstown.

Ah, Charco. My family (paternal side) had a ranch between Charco and Runge and I spent a lot of time there, working and hunting. Good times.

Another in that general territory would be the great metropolis of Mineral, Texas. My maternal grandfather and his siblings owned a ranch a few miles to the northwest. …learned to ride (horses) and work around cattle at a very young age there.

Texhoma, technically half of it is in Oklahoma. The town in the panhandle, not on the Red River.

Spent several weeks there for three summers cutting wheat.

What a shame the restaurant there has gone so far down hill in the last ten years.

I hear people say that but we haven't noticed it. I eat there several times a year and enjoy the heck out of it.

then again I don't order steaks at restaurants too often. But there Hamburger and onion rings are the best.

In my spare time I use Google Maps Street View to go into small towns.

They all seem dead to me. No people around, collapsing houses. Seem very miserable to be there. I wonder how people like it.

I like to do this too, especially towns where I had family once upon a time. they look so sad and I wonder what people there do other than toil at a low paying job and come home to a ****ty little house.

Roosevelt Just west of Junction and just off I-10. Pretty much just a feedstore/restaurant and small post office. Used to go in to pick up feed for lease and eat while we were there

I've only been here about 20 years.

The first Mayor of the City of Hays just passed away a couple of years ago. There is now a new Elementary School in Kyle named after him: Ramage Elementary School.

Lamont Ramage was on the HCISD school board when I was a student. I went to school with his son Monty

Mo Johnson, namesake of the newest HCISD high school, was our superintendent. My dad was farming buddies with Ted Lehman whose name is on the Kyle high school. He was also a school board member at one time.

My dad rolled his Nissan just outside El Indio. Last time he ever drove, we had to put him in a care home after that.
