Does anyone know the last time or if TexAgs has ever redesigned the look? Was this the first version they set up and just let ride? What is the oldest/ first thread?

As legend has it, long dead poster named mkf dos attacked and killed texags. He had dirt on Gabe and Slocum so he was welcomed back and paid handsomely to design the mobile version. His face is memorialized in that weird saw em off statue thing outside of Kyle Football
Personally I love the emojis from 1995 but curious about how it all came about.

I personally love that TA doesn't look like all the other build-your-own forums.
Don't change anything. It's so much cleaner than other forums
I believe this fine website was launched in 1998.
Because his intention was to have several forums, Peter actually contacted me to see if I would serve as a moderator of one of them or a moderator in general. I cannot remember the specific details.
I was honored by the request, but my profession and family had me busier than a Wal*Mart bag in a tornado.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this website, as well as, discussions with some of the finest posters on the planet.

I sometimes forgot how good we have it. Just visiting an opposing teams boards is a shock to the system.
UX is super clean. The back end could use some updates. The special character handling, bot invasion and pop ups seem to get worse and worse.

Can confirm the forum was around in Spring 1998, it's how I used to kill time between classes at one of the computer labs way back when.
Crazy that the first version of this site looked as nice in the 90s than many other schools' forum sites look in 2025.
Those were the days…..like the time I caught the ferry over to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe, so, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. 'Give me five bees for a quarter,' you'd say.

I think i discovered TexAgs because I was at a game, probably in 2000, where some drunk guy was pissed and said he was going to go home and post about it on TexAgs.
