Late to the thread, but I just got to offer someone a job. They were far and away the best candidate and have been trying to break into publishing for the last 5 years. Several internships, perfect resume, fantastic interview, etc. They just needed someone to give them a shot and today that got to be me. They started tearing up on the phone because they were so happy. They said it was the best Christmas present they could ask for. I got a little teary eyed myself.
It was the last bit of work I had before the break and it basically made my whole month.
