She better lose about 75 lb last time I saw her, but this statement is hilarious. Disney was blatantly wrong, the tide has turned, and they know it.

in case you haven't heard...disney settled on their lawsuit with gina carano....

after trying to get it dismissed and then getting hammered for not having things ready for discovery and pushing back the trial until september, they finally made the decision to settle because there was NO WAY they were going to want this to go to court....

here's a statement from lucas film...far cry from the crap they were saying roughly 4 years ago....

Quote:

In a statement, a Lucasfilm spokesperson said, "With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future."

"We have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies," it added. "Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect."

many articles regarding this so here's just one...
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/disney-lucasfilm-settle-lawsuit-gina-carano-mandalorian-firing-1236339825/

here's gina's response...

Quote:

I have come to an agreement with Disney/Lucasfilm which I believe is the best outcome for all parties involved. I hope this brings some healing to the force.

I want to extend my deepest most heartfelt gratitude to Elon Musk, a man I've never met, who did this Good Samaritan deed for me in funding my lawsuit.

Thank you Mr. Musk and X for backing my case and asking for nothing in return.

To my lawyers at Schaerr|Jaffe who walked me through this unknown territory, thank you for your wisdom and guidance.

I am humbled and grateful to God for His love and grace in this outcome.

I'd like to thank you all for your unrelenting support throughout my life and career, you've been the heartbeat that has kept my story alive. I hope to make you proud.

I am excited to flip the page and move onto the next chapter. My desires remain in the arts, which is where I hope you will join me.

Yes, I'm smiling.

shock trooper for the win!!!!

From that cosmic tweet:
Quote:

It will gradually build toward a major event that brings together characters introduced in past films.

So colossal turds like Rose Tico and Maz Kanata, got it. Oh yeah, the 54th incarnation of Sheev. BTW Sheev is such a terrible name. You can really tell the people who adopted that name (it was a Lucas creation and used in some novels thereby canonizing it) really mailed it in.

All the real characters are dead. I guess force ghost Anakin, Qui Gon, Mace, Luke, Yoda and Obi Wan could be cool. Otherwise this is starting to smell like

9,023 piece Death Star Lego

The set features a mix of scenes from the movies, incorporating both the original Death Star and Death Star II from Return of the Jedi, with scenes including the Hangar Bay (complete with Lambda-class shuttle) and the Emperor's throne room, complete with the Emperor's purple-clad advisors, a brand new minifigure.

Speaking of minifigures, the set appears to have a huge range of characters from across the movies, including multiple versions of Han, Luke, Leia and Chewbacca that can be used across the various scenes, as well as villain characters in the Emperor, Darth Vader, Grand Moff Tarkin, Colonel Yularen, Admiral Motti and General Tagge. Rogue One also appears to be getting some love with Death Star designers Galen Erso and Orson Krennic making an appearance.

Time for divorce...

But for real, for anyone who's ever had a nice big LEGO set destroyed by someone, you know it's a disaster. Very difficult to rebuild - you start out thinking "oh, I can keep this big chunk together and build around it. But that almost never works. Better off to do a full disassembly and start over.

This has been the biggest hot button set for LEGO Star Wars fan boys. "Boycotting" over it and the price!

It's $1000 and insane. I do Lego with my kiddo and just wait for the good deals. Grabbed the dark falcon for him today at $80 instead of $180. Will be interesting to see how much this drops in price.

That one has been "retired" for a number of years plus it is a third party seller. I believe that one retailed for like $500 about ten years ago. (Not 100% sure because I just got back into it.) The new one hasn't released yet and likely will be a Lego exclusive.

The biggest gripe most grownups have is that the new one is not an actually sphere.
