Watched the latest episode last night

Its so hard, as a scientist, to watch the way these episodes are produced. Its so difficult to tease apart what is significant and repeatable, verses noise in their data. For example as a watcher, I'm completely confused on what "east canyon" and "the entry point" are and if they're close to the same thing. I just need a better map/layout of the ranch to orient myself. Oak Island (produced by the same company?) has similar problems. Instead of showing me the same damn video of the UAP entering and exiting the mesa for the 50th time this episode, just orient us a little better? So the GPS coordinates of the drone shift to "the entry point" of the UAP....how close are we talking? Actually lining up (as best you can tell), or just over in the same general location on the 500+ acre ranch? Little details, but they do matter if you're trying to conduct a "scientific investigation" on TV.

There is a lot of interesting phenomena but getting difficult to keep up with. You have the 30 ft blob. The cone which has an apex at the triangle (verified by the data only once and never repeated?). The entry point now in east canyon. The dig site. Again, same problem Oak Island has in showing something different in a new location each episode and trying to claim its significant instead of focusing on one or two things.

One thing is for sure is that GPS goes whacky out there....and that they can pick up a 1.6 GHz signal. everything else its hard for me to buy in terms of reproducibility because each show focuses on a different outcome from their experiments.

The "entry point" is located in the top of the mesa in the east field (also called east field canyon) about 1/2 mile from triangle. The UAP exits the mesa at a point just east of the triangle.

Entry point (look for small white orb in middle of yellow circle)

This week, in a shocking turn of events, electronics don't work right and there are things in the sky.

Kind of like a college football season, another season of Skinwalker Ranch has flown by way too fast and is over before you know it.

They should have cased that hole. I think that's a year round activity you can do in the snow so the weather excuse was lame.

Definitely something weird going on above the triangle.

Fugal initially said on Twitter that this season was going to be 16 episodes, so I was fully expecting three more episodes after this week, and was super surprised to not only see two drop at once on Tuesday, but that one of them was the season finale.

Oh well.

That said, as much as I love this show, and this cast, and will watch as many seasons as they want to make, and will take any morsels of info/discoveries they give us each episode… I do have to admit that the format it getting pretty stale at this point. I think I said as much after last season, but more so even now, it's to the point where I simply don't need to see any more drone experiments or rockets fired into the sky ever again. It feels like they've done damn near everything they can in that regard, and the big draw now seems to just be more drones, more rockets, and more lidar - now all at the same time! Oh, my!

And yeah, not casing the hole yet was incredibly lame. But once they finally do, next season needs to focus primarily on the mesa. They should of course keep experimenting above the triangle, but the focus of the show should now switch primarily to getting to the bottom of the mesa, both physically and data-wise.

Again, I still love the show, and am more convinced than ever that something truly anomalous/mind-blowing is going on there. It's just that five seasons in now, I really need them to shake things up a bit going forward.

It will be interesting to see what they can learn about the anomalies in the mesa using down hole oilfield tools next year. Assuming they don't fail unexpectedly.

If next season is just more squirrelly GPS data and failed drone experiments they may rapidly lose viewers.

I figured we'd see more last season about that "I alive" screen melting incident.

Looks like that May 1st date was (obviously) inaccurate. Here's the official announcement...

Unfortunately YouTube TV still doesn't carry History, so I have to wait until I can stream it tomorrow.

Glad it's finally back, though!

Really good episode tonight. Looks like they are starting to get some definition of the boundaries around the triangle. Quite a bit more to talk about as well but will wait for others to see the episode

Where does everyone stream this? My daughter and I used to stream it on Hulu(not live, we have YTTV) but the last season available is 4.

We have Hulu live. So I have it set to record and watch it a little delayed so I can skip commercials

I just spend the $15 or however much for the season pass on Apple. Every episode is then available to steam via Apple TV at midnight Pacific each Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, a few hours after it airs on History. Hence why I usually don't end up watching until Wednesday or Thursday night. That said, the one positive "trade off" is that the video quality is a lot better via Apple, as opposed to the "recorded," lower bitrate version via cable streamer.

A fantastic, mainstream article from Vulture and Matt Zoller Seitz dropped today on The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch.

Considering we're in season six, I assumed the show was obviously popular for the History Channel, but I had absolutely no idea it's the "tenth most-viewed original program on basic cable" That's incredible!

Anyway, this is a must-read for fans of the show...

This has been the best season for me, so far. I've enjoyed the variety of experiments they have run and the discovery of the bubble has been interesting. This past episode with the Lunasonde team was really good. They seem to be some of the smartest folks the team has out to gather data.

Great article. It covers the gamut of my thoughts on the show. I'm admittedly still far behind, but it sounds like it hasn't really changed.

I may have said this previously, but I'll always be skeptical of this type of show after Animal Planet Mermaid hoax. I remember randomly turning it on AP or Discovery and being hooked immediately. During breaks I would tell my wife about the crazy s*** that was being discussed. By the end of the show it felt so over the top that it could be fake, but this is AP/Discovery! Educational channels, not The Sci-Fi Channel! The videos were suspiciously pixelated during the reveals....but those were likely the product of older phones with weaker cameras. My tin foil hat nearly fell off. They're real

The title is perfect though - I want to believe.

I hadn't paid attention to the size and didn't realize how truly small it is until the article mentioned it. The total space is less than a sqare mile.
Staff - take out the trash.

Really great episode this week. Between Travis' security system (apparently) getting hacked, the ceramics, and the radiation readings, so many interesting angles. Preview for next week looks crazy too.

For me, this week was easily one of the best episodes of the entire series. A legit, jaw-dropping moment in the lab, followed by a super intriguing clue there toward the end. They're really hitting their stride.

Absolutely. Really looking forward to see how they go about excavating the mesa. This year seemed more focused than previous years. They really worked to define the limits of the bubble over the triangle. I think they have really documented some sort of energy disturbance there. Then throw in the mesa findings and it has been a very productive year.
