They're not plated. I haven't seen people wearing them casually, but there was a lot of hype around them when released.

Agreed, those collegiate Air Max solos are way better looking than anything Adidas has come up with. Id love to have those Michigan ones if they didn't say Michigan on them . adidas has yet to come out with anything I would buy, clothing or shoes.

Some 20 odd years ago the tell leaders busted out maroon and white(maybe grey?) NB 574s. They were impossible to find anywhere in Texas. My dad finally found a pair in my size at the New Balance outlet in Hillsboro and it felt like I win the lottery. I literally wore the tread of those shoes. I finally tossed them when the sole separated and they fell apart.

I like my maroon Adidas A&M Centennial lows and they've made some nice shoes in the past. But man the new stuff is just awful

If you check out Plato's Closet in College Station, a lot of athletes drop their exclusive gear off in there. You can get very good condition shoes if you have the right size foot.
