Nike hasn't sponsored Formula 1 since their deal with Micheal Schumacher's deal in the late 90s when they released a hybrid racing boot/street shoe called the Nike Air Zoom Schu. It was pretty wild.


That all ended when Ferrari ditched them for Fila in the early 2000s.

Fast forward to today. Cadillac has a brand new F1 team starting this year. For those who aren't into racing, its a big deal as new teams aren't common and the only other U.S. based team (Haas) isn't very successful.

In all of their new promo photos, the two drivers for Cadillac (Valteri Bottas and Checo Perez) are wearing Panda Dunks. Nothing has been officially announced and some reporting is skeptical that there is even a deal in place. It could just be that Cadillac is trying to court Nike. But it makes a lot of sense for Nike to jump back in right now. Cadillac is really leaning into their status as an iconic American brand. They have also partnered with Tommy Hilfiger for their clothing line, another American icon.


I think Nike could do some really cool things if given the chance here. Not just interesting takes on dunks, AF1, etc. But actually develop some legit new footwear. Given that F1 popularity is exploding right now, I think it makes good business sense too.

Excited about Cadillac though as well as the documentary Keanu is doing with them.

I've actually had a few pairs of the Puma Speedcats in the past, super comfortable and they come in tons of colorways. Might be time to add back to the collection actually.

Checked Costco on Richmond in Houston and not on the shipment receiving reports yet, said to check back every few days. He could also be lying to maintain the shock drop. Dude said it's only the west coast currently and a couple in NYC. Put up the bat signal if you see some!

Asked him to hold a 9.5M ;-)

I think the materials make them look cool and cozy. I think they are fun and they would look great with a matching sweatsuit.

I also dig the little Costco details/eater eggs, and think that makes them cooler.
