Have to say I was expecting a lot more out the 50th season. There were some good moments, but I figured they would have put more into it.

Isn't a "tough sock" exactly what you did, when you created multiple accounts, including this new one, and then used it to act like Colin Jost doesn't deserve his wife.

Considering, as predicted, she was, indeed, there to promote JRR. There was a dinosaur joke/mention in the monologue, a Jurassic Park-themed SNL bit/promo featuring Johansson earlier in the week, and a big/new JRR spot aired during the broadcast, in advance of the final trailer debuting tomorrow. All perfectly timed/coordinated.

In my opinion, no big losses other than Heidi, but she has been on a long time, so she was probably just ready to go.

Heidi probably made more from the Home.com commercials than she has in a few years of SNL. She's funny and versatile, not an easy one to replace. I don't think I can ID Walker or Wakim.
Devon always seemed stiff and awkward in sketches to me. I've always thought of him more as a stand-up. Michael Longfellow only stood out to me for how little he appeared in anything.
Heidi is going to be a big loss. She might be their best cast member after Kenan. Micheal and Devon aren't terrible, but also, not really memorable. They can be replaced. I have no idea who Emil is.

Veronika Slowikowska is hilarious. Her Insta content is really good, I think she'll thrive in this role.

Yeah, this sucks. At least a couple of them are sticking around, but together they were the only consistently reliable laugh on the show. Combined with losing Gardner, this feels like a pretty big downgrade. Hopefully some of the new cast actually stands out for once.

Jeremy Culhane is from Dropout and will do great on the show. SNL could probably use more Dropout people

They did something along those lines a few years ago when criticized for having no female black cast members. They had Kerry Washington quick-change playing Big Mike, Beyonce, and Oprah all in one sketch.
When it came time for Oprah to appear, Kerry looked around in disbelief. "You mean Kenan won't…?". "Nope!"

You would think there is a limit to the skits you can work in an angry disgusted gay guy character, but they keep finding unfunny ways to work him in.

Sounds like one of my favorites from the 2010s - new cast member or Arcade Fire member.

I never cared much for her and I'm definitely not sad she's leaving. It seemed like most of her performances were just variations on the same character. Any time they put her on Update it was just painful to watch.

Dude is super talented . Really weird to know of an actor before they go on SNL. Hope he still gets to drop in on gamechanger. The stunt he pulled in his episode this season really shows how he can read a scene well and go for the funniest punchline
So many of them would be awesome on SNL. You could replace the whole cast with Dropout and it would probably be significantly better (but a lot weirder). Lisa auditioned a few years ago and somehow didn't get it.

I hadn't actually seen it until tonight, had to catch up on a few things. That episode felt like a fever dream. Jeremy and Anna were perfect choices for that one. "Call me Robert…For Italy!"
