it's obviously hush hush.. but.. I think it's one of two things;
Presales have small allocations, so a lot left for general. Or.. presales are pretty much all the tickets.

what pisses me off is the level 300 enhanced experiences are advertised at $750.. good seats in level 300. Regular 300 seats are like $400. Both of these being a pair of shows.

I get in to a few TM presales yesterday, and level 300 seats AT THE EDGE were priced same as level 100/200 EEs, $1800.

Got section 303 for the March 15/17th shows. I had 1 person ahead of me in the queue. Guess I'm lucky, or there might be an algorithm to put their top spenders at the front of the line, who knows. They were the same price as my obstructed view seats for October, so not bad at all.

There were rumors this is the last show announcements for a while, but these are selling out so fast some additional shows are almost guaranteed. Eagles sold out super fast at first, also, and now they've done like 50 shows.

I saw a funny meme about getting Metallica tickets at the Sphere that features the young guy on the bed and the older lady in bra and panties saying "that wasn't so bad, let's get you those tickets now" but Staff probably wouldn't like it.

Im in right now and there's a lot. Floor for just under $200 right now, but decent lower level seats are over $300.

I ended up getting a couple in 339 for $169 a piece after fees, etc.

Seemed like a better bargain than floor or some of the corner club levels

Looking forward to seeing Caamp, been on my list for awhile but they seem to mainly only play festivals.

I just got an email from Ticketmaster that they moved me from 339 to Section 131, Row 14.

Quote:

Hello,

Alamodome has made changes to the production for Zach Bryan - With Heaven On Tour, which will affect your seat location. They've moved you into new seats in the lower level. Your new tickets are in your Ticketmaster Account now. Your original tickets are no longer valid for entry.

Wonder if there wasn't enough interest and they will tarp some of the top level like they do for stuff like monster jam.

Either way, not complaining

Will be like that at most venues - oversaturated and not big enough for stadiums. It's a $5 ticket @ LSU, Arlington heading that direction as well.

When was Theo at Reed?

Read here. I have indeed found a better venue and am pretty over the moon at this point. He'll probably bomb now:

https://texags.com/forums/35/topics/3535184/replies

I forgot to ever write a review of Theo at Comedy Mothership but it was the best comedy experience of my life.Sorry this is a bit long but the whole story is worth telling:

We get to the venue at 8:50 PM for the 10 PM show and were going to hit a bar across the street. Security guy tells me they are letting out the 7 PM show as we speak and to get in line for best spot. So my buddy and I did about 7 people deep.

They make you lock up your phone before you even go into the place, not just Fat Man or Little Boy rooms. And tell us they will take everyone into the bar area before we get to go into Fat Man. We walk in and I hand my buddy my card and told him get us drinks I gotta find the bathroom ASAP.

I'm walking down the tight space of people in line for drinks and out walks Theo from around the corner. He's suddenly 8 feet from me and starts talking to random people sitting in a booth. I am then suddenly standing right next to him but with his back towards me. I started thinking do I just keep it moving or wait and say hello. His conversation with the table lasted 10-15 seconds which felt like an eternity standing there awkwardly.

He turns around and looks right at me and says "How have you been brother?" as if he's known me forever. I said great man and we did a brotha hug and I said I'm excited to be here and looking forward to the show. I proceed to go on my way searching for the bathroom.

I don't get star struck that often and didn't think I would by Theo but the way it transpired so quickly and unexpectedly had my heart racing a bit. I go take a piss and was like wow that just happened already. We're off to a helluva start. Then I hear a girl yelling "Sir, Sir!". I'm like who is this yelling and what is going on. I get done relieving myself and there is a girl washing her hands and I said "Oh **** am I in the women's bathroom?" and she said yes.

I walk out and she's talking to a cop who approaches me and I said "Sir, I've never been here, I've had one beer, and trust me that was an accident". He said no problem.

They then line us up to go into Fat Man. We have G/A. A staff member tells us to wait where we are while he seats people in a booth. He comes back and takes us down to row 3 center. There were two rows of tables with 4 chairs in front of us, then an aisle way for the servers, and then us in the most prime spot ever 7 feet from the microphone. Talk about a whirlwind different experience from Reed Arena and a joke hasn't even been told yet. Start talking to random girl seated next to me and she shows me her Aggie ring and said her son is a Senior at A&M.

Show starts. First comic was from Pakistan and started off with a gay Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott joke and he was hilarious. Then next was a brotha I recognized that plays the Mothership often. Then it was a girl that appears on Kill Tony. Can't remember any of their names. She's the one that acts real autistic with an extremely dry sense of humor. All three had us rolling.

And then she announces the next guest and it's none other than Joe Rogan coming out from the curtain right in front of us. I'm a big Rogan fan but think his stand up is terrible. Well, on this night even he absolutely killed!

Then he brings out Theo. Much of his act was repetitive of what I had seen at Reed but it was still hilarious. That club is so well ran its not even funny. I wish they'd let you take pictures inside the venue but lock up your phone before you go into the actual performance rooms but whatever.

Left the club on cloud 9 after a 10/10 evening and can't wait to go back there again.

Creed at the Houston Rodeo last night. I have to say they put on a hell of a show, and Scotts voice was really good. Rock singers who are 25 years into their career can be very hit or miss but I was pleasantly surprised at how good he sounded.

I'm sure I'm not alone in my relationship with Creed. Came to them with their debut and have always defended that as a stellar hard rock album. Saw them the first time summer between freshman and sophomore years at A&M:

  • Aug 29, 1998
Creed / Fuel / Finger Eleven
    Live Oak Civic Center
    Live Oak, TX
All three touring on their debuts. I was actually the biggest fan of Fuel, still am.

In the following year I started to discover college rock and indie rock and my tastes got weirder. Then I saw them the second (and maybe third time?):

  • Oct 31, 1999 / Nov 05, 1999
Creed / Our Lady Peace / Oleander
    The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion
    The Woodlands, Texas, United States
The original date Stapp stopped three songs in because his voice was shot. They promised to come back and did a week later. Much like the first time I saw them, I was a bigger fan of the openers. Our Lady Peace "Happiness Is Not A Fish That You Can Catch" and Creed "Human Clay" came out on the same day. I bought them both and listened immediately and it was a divergence point. I LOVED the OLP album and it's still an all time great to me. It was weirder, different, more to my new indie tastes while still being mainstream at times. Creed was the definition of radio friendly rock and I didn't have a taste for it anymore. In my youthful energy I may or may not become part of the "Creed sucks" crowd. Of course I still couldn't help but get familiar with their big hits.

Cut to years and years later I'm still a music snob but (hopefully like all of us), with time, you look back more fondly on things and stop judging. Then one night I take my daughter to soccer practice and decided to pop on a podcast and stumble upon this one:

I found it a really endearing and fun interview. It was before Creed got back together and Stapp really had nothing to promote or gain. He was basically just a washed up rock star playing small clubs at that time and it really felt like just a 2 hour hangout/sit down. He talks very matter of factly about his life, doesn't try to excuse any of his past, and seemed like he had really come a long way and was in a really good place. I found myself coming away from it rooting for him.

When Creed was announced for the rodeo my 15 year old guitar playing concert buddy son said "that might be fun" so I took the hint and got tickets. We also took one of his buddies. They both got shirts and rocked out. My son has gotten into classics like Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, etc. and now Creed. It was really kind of fun to just watch the show from their eyes. They don't have the burden of living in that time where some of the music was judged as cool and some as lame, it's all just classic rock music to them. I realized I knew every single song and still remembered almost every lyric and just gave myself over to the music and fun. It was a good reminder to maybe not take everything so serious. Is Creed re-inventing the wheel? No. But it's just fun music. They put their all into the show and Stapp just exuded so much positivity and energy. He was a little preachy but so what, he righted the course of his life. Good for him and good for them.

These have been Deep Thoughts for the day

Yep. Good mix of the hits and the new album. For what concerts cost these days 2.5 hours should be the norm, but it isn't.

Always been a big Creed fan and an even bigger fan of Mark Tremonti. They put on a great show last night.

I was also at that show in 99 when they had to stop because of Stapp's voice and when they came back. I remember when they called it people started throwing the rental chairs down the hill. Outlaw Dave came out to scold everyone. Their return show the next weekend was great. That concert introduced me to Our Lady Peace and Oleander. I still listen to both of those bands to this day.

Went to Our Lady Peace Friday at White Oak. It was downstairs and sold out.

The Verve Pipe opened. One hit wonder of "The Freshmen" fame. That was the only song of theirs I knew.

Our Lady Peace was great. They are a top 10 band to me. Been one of my favorites for almost 30 years. The last time they played a headlining show in Houston was August 2009. I was there and even won sound check passes. Since then they've been on a couple BuzzFest lineups and been through opening for bands that I didn't want to see (like Incubus). I've been waiting for a headline show and it finally happened.

Listen, Raine's voice is unique and one of the reasons I love the band, but it's not what it used to be. To be fair he knows this. At a certain point in their career I think he recognized he couldn't hit those high falsettos anymore so adjusted accordingly and their later albums he doesn't use it. Playing the old songs he works around it a bit and he sounds great at points, and at points struggles. There is a noticeable difference between his singing the old songs and their newest songs where he knows his voice better and writes in his range. But as a whole it was great and I nearly lost my voice screaming along to every single song.

So you would now be a suitable replacement for the lead singer?
