And you tell me there's no gay agenda in Hollywood.

Devin is a straight man who lost his wife to cancer a couple years back.

I've seen multiple tweets from other people joking about zombie dong in the movie as well, and he's clearly just doing the same.

Some of you are obsessed with trying to make mountains out of molehills.

"28 Years Later" is projected to have a strong opening weekend at the box office, with initial tracking suggesting a domestic opening between $42 and $50 million, according to Box Office Theory. This is a significant increase from the opening weekend grosses of the previous two films in the series. Some projections even place the opening above the combined opening weekend earnings of "28 Days Later" and "28 Weeks Later".
If those numbers hold, it could also outgross 28 Days Later's entire domestic run of $45M, in its opening weekend.

Deadline projecting $56M+ global.

Should be getting the third sequel greenlight announcement pretty shortly I would think.

Nice.

To be clear, just so everyone's aware, they already shot the sequel to this movie, which is titled...

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

... currently schedule to release January 16, 2026, and is rumored to feature Cillian Murphy in a cameo capacity at the very least. My guess is that date moves back a month or two, though.

Danny Boyle didn't shoot The Bone Temple (though Alex Garland wrote both), but Boyle will return to direct the third movie in this new trilogy (which Garland also wrote), should this one be a box office success.

Saw it. I liked it. Gives off a bit of an arthouse vibe which I think works. You don't need to have seen the previous movies to understand what's going on.

Saw on Twitter that it is nothing like the previews made it out to be, is that the case?

Yeah, that's why I said the third sequel.

I wouldn't go that far. A little hard to explain without spoiling things. I could see where it might a bit divisive for some. But, I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I thought that was great. If maybe a bit "smaller" of a movie than many might have expected this to be, myself included.

And although it feels like a fairly complete story in itself, it does also feel a little bit like the opening part of a trilogy (which it is), and it ends when things are just about to really take off. So that is my main complaint with the movie. It also felt pretty short, even though it was 2 hours.

I thought all the performances were great, but the main kid was fantastic. Probably a star that was just born.

Jodie Comer obviously killed it as well and will likely get some awards buzz.

I find it interesting that the next movie will be called The Bone Temple, when it really feels like this would have been the movie to have that subtitle.

Enjoyed the use of the song from the first movie, though I was really hoping we'd get In the House in a Heartbeat. (Hopefully saving that for the next one.)

All that said...what in the WORLD was that ending? That is sure to throw every audience member for a loop.

I agree with a lot of what you said. Especially feeling smaller.

Agreed on the ending. Felt like a different movie.

Just got back from watching it. It has a very different feel compared to the first two films. I liked it, but I can't help feeling slightly conflicted and perhaps disappointed, although that's probably too strong of a word. As I reflect on it for the next 24 hrs it might grow on me more.

No "In the House - in a Heartbeat", but it would be way out of place in this film as there wasn't a scene that would work w/ it.

The comments about the amount of zombie schlong aren't a joke. There's plenty of TnA too, but geez...

Honestly, I'm extremely disappointed. Had no idea more were planned, but it makes sense with that ending. I'll watch the sequel, but I don't imagine I'll ever rewatch this one.

I think my biggest gripe is that this did not feel like a horror film which is certainly what I expected from this franchise.

I felt like it never focused in either. There were interesting pieces, but if felt like they just touched on them. Felt almost like multiple short stories put together.

Really enjoyed it. The kid was nails, and the scenes with him, his mom, and Feinnes were excellent. Feinnes was perfect for that role. I wasn't sure what to expect but I like what they did with the environment. Good tension. The one criticism I do have is that the degree of Alpha Dong swinging to and fro took some of the tension out of those scenes and made them Benny Hill-ish. That was a bad call

I don't see myself rewatching as much as the others, but I am going to do one with captions on

Agree with the above. It was a good movie. Too much swinging dong that was unnecessary and the end was weird though.

I had a mixed reaction. Kid was great, first half was very tense. Second half was heartfelt and artsy and really made you think. Still, it didn't feel like a coherent movie. Some decisions made by the characters were baffling, but that's almost every movie. Some of the directing seemed really dated and 20 years ago and some was just amazing.

The ending...wth.

The next one is directed by the lady that directed The Marvels...

Verdict: I'd reccommend, but it may not be for everyone. Still thinking about it, so that's a good sign for most movies. Jeremy Jahns has a great review online.

The most notable t&a is pregnant. So could be hot for some if you are into that kind of thing, at least until she opens her mouth and you see that classic UK grill. There is also a notable lack of GLP-1s being airdropped to the infected.
