I know it's not a good, well written show, but I thought this was the most entertaining episode of the season.

I thought it was a decent episode.

Told my wife and daughter that the "they/them" freak was nothing but a tyrant, dictating when the freaking lights could be on or the no music thing. Also, we could not determine whether that actor was an actual female. I eventually just started calling it "Pat".

I'm real curious how they are going to deal with Cooper beating the crap out of that fat **** who tried to rape his hot little fiance. I'm pretty sure in Texas he'd be thrown a parade and given the keys to the city for defending her like that, but I'm not a lawyer so may very well be incorrect. I figure that, given the political leanings of this show, he'll be exonerated based on the CCTV footage. One question - is the hatred the fat **** displayed toward Hispanics still really a thing in Texas these days?

Tommy being fired was a bit of a surprise. Not sure how they have a show without him in that role, so I expect something will happen that will have Demi Moore re-think that decision.

I think the Cartel dude is going to take over Cami's company in pretty short order and put Tommy back in charge or somehow talk her into bringing Tommy back...

Or, maybe MTex doesn't get the wells Cooper found after all and Tommy and Cooper go into business together?

No way they could get rid of Billy Bob as a main character and still have a good show. If they think Demi and Andy Garcia and Ali Larter are enough to carry the show, then they don't understand the audience..

Tommy getting blindsided by Demi Moore was the best scene of the season. He truly did not see that coming, and it's clear that Andy Garcia's character has gotten in her head and she about to realize how far over her skis she is.

Sheridan has done a good job of turning Demi's character into a modern O&G Freddo - "I'm smart, I can do things" - she had no clue about the business and instead of taking her money and living a comfortable life she's trying to show that she can instantaneously move into a business and be bigger and badder than her dead husband and all the other people with life long experience in the field. She's waayyyy over her skis for sure!

Cooper and Tommy going in business with wells that produce 5 barrels a day is going to be a slow business, but I think that Andy Garcia needs Tommy more than Cami understands. She is clueless about the business side of it, so is Cooper for that matter.

No possible way does MTex run without Tommy.

Cooper deciding that "we are going to drill here" just like that....with no prep work/permits etc., was laughable.

I laughed at that too. My wife asked what my problem was? I tried to explain but she just rolled her eyes and went back to the show

She left him because he became an alcoholic. Thats why he "quit drinking" and only has light beers now. Its alluded to a couple of times in earlier seasons.

This show is absolutely horrendous. But damn do I lap it up. Not sure how many more seasons I want to keep doing it though.

I'm hoping in Season 3 that MTEX obtains some drilling rights in California so Tommy can take some shots at Gavin Newsome.

This isn't true at all. Cooper had already done all his research and strategy when he was working for himself. He then drilled his 6 wells based on his research and assumptions and all 6 hit.

This would have been his 7th well. He literally explained all of this to the guys after Boss said he was going to run it by Dale.

I have had to start reminding myself that if they actually showed the real day-to-day life in O&G, it'd be surprisingly mundane and boring.

Kinda like when that Steven Segal "Dark Territory" movie came out and as someone who worked for the RR, I sprained my eyeballs from rolling them so hard. Which makes me think....next TS show should be about the life of a railroader. Seems like he's tackled most other "blue collar" industries. There's so much you could do about the RR. The stories I could tell about engineers with families on both ends of their normal runs, aliens stealing cow a**holes in the Arizona desert, crapping down the leg of their overalls and kicking it over the side so they don't have to use the engine restroom....the list goes on.

I'm sorry, the aliens only stole the what of the cow? no.. other parts?
AJ02

Yep. According to this one engineer I rode with thru NM and AZ, the aliens would come down and steal cow *******s. They supposedly saw all kinds of crazy UFOs out there. Lots of very odd men that work those long runs thru the desert. I've forgotten a lot of the specifics of what he was telling me, but of course cow ******* theft remains ingrained in my brain.

Right.

Just like most ad men in 1961 never got laid as much as Roger Sterling and Don Draper.

From a tough SOB in 1883 to now whatever this character he does in Landman, what a downfall for Sam Elliot. I am just waiting for his character to do something that doesnt involve whining like a *****.

It's like TS liked the general idea of having Elliott in the show but had no clue how he was going to use him. Other than a few moments of helping Tommy realize he needed to stop and smell the roses he has been irrelevant to the story

I think Sheridan tried to make him come across as some hopeless romantic who was madly in love with his wife. But in reality, he looks like a pathetic loser who let his methed up ***** of a wife ruin his family and still continues to be an absolute pathetic ***** about it all.

Honestly, the show feels completely directionless. I don't think Sheridan knew where he wanted to take things. This all feels just random and nonsensical.

It would be nothing but Cuban sand haul drivers wrecking their trucks and causing massive traffic jams every day.

Haven't watched much of Sheridan other shows but compared to season 1 this season definitely feels like an airing of liberal grievances. The view one still gets me

I don't think Sheridan is a die hard conservative, I think for this show he is playing to the audience & what most people in West TX think about "the view" and all of that.

He hates the woke stuff...he's masculine, so it's only natural...but he always came across more as a libertarian (right leaning if you had to choose) to me.

?. The 6 wells Cooper drilled were making way more than 5 barrels a day. I thought one of them was going to make 14 million a year? At any rate, MTex got them for the 40 million loan the cartel guy gave Cooper. Who knows if anything was in writing yet? He should stick it to Cami, and make her pay the real value of all those wells. Cooper was getting hosed because he didn't make the payments for the drilling and well servicing and didnt set up an account to be funded by the loan.

Anyway, gotta be a big twist coming...Maybe Cami finds out she cant fire Tommy without cause unless the board votes and approves since he is Executor of the Trust. If I were Tommy, I'd tell her to pound sand anyway even if he could come back. He should probably get a big balloon severance package payment anyway.
