Just finished the last episodes from the original series (season 8). Damnit if that wasn't the perfect finale. I haven't vacuumed in my house in awhile apparently...

After watching the last few episodes of the marathon on freeform, Im struggling if it's worth risking perfection. Seriously, the definition of bittersweet. So happy and sad at the same time watching that...

So what's the consensus on the new episodes so far...? Will it ruin perfection? Or add to it?

I really liked it. This is probably the first time a reboot didn't disappoint me.

I actually enjoyed the new episodes. It felt like they kept with a similar spirit from the original. Had a few good chuckles. Hard to get over braffs botoxed face but otherwise wasn't awful.

Fist 2 were pretty perfect for what they were.

I enjoyed the episodes. Felt like Scrubs but in the new era. But I'm also saddened by the same thing in Stupe's spoiler.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.

I loved the first two episodes other than the one thing that has already been mentioned behind spoiler tags. HATE that. But even so, loving what we have and am super thankful we get these 9 episodes or whatever (sadly I just assume it will be canceled because that's how life works).

I feel like the humor is right on point with the old show and they did a good job of modernizing it.

I really enjoyed the first two. Hope Cox wasn't a one and done for the season.

Spoiler alert- he's more than just one or two, but quite fewer than all.

Definitely feels like the old Scrubs so really like what I've seen so far. Agree with everyone else that I hate the one thing they've changed since the finale

I get not liking the spoiler thing. But they needed some dynamic between the characters and it is somewhat in keeping with their history. And in light of their history, this could go in a lot of directions, including an ultimately happy ending.

First two episodes were good not great.

In for the next few

Of all places, Architectural Digest provides this really incredible look at the new, rebuilt set of Scrubs. Really fascinating.

They built a new bar set and named it Lloyd's Junction in honor of Sam Lloyd, who played Ted.

Next they can cover the re-building of Zach Braff's face.

Loved the first two episodes but I thought the 3rd one was a little lackluster. Also, it has been a while since I watched the original series, but didn't they already do an episode over RateMyDoc?

Agreed. It had its moments but not as good as the first two. They did have an episode in the earlier seasons where they discussed it because I remember JD had perfect scores or something like that. My favorite part of ep 3 was the wrestling daydreams

I thought the 3rd episode was fantastic. 3/3 so far.

A couple minutes into ep 3 and man, they all look old, except Carla.

Not shocking per se, but jd, Turk and Elliott had all had work done and it's pretty blatant. I need to get over it i suppose (despite knowing that i still look like i did from 20 years ago )

It almost seems like they're highlighting their aging. They all have aged pretty well and between makeup, TV magic, they could hide this very easily. Seems purposeful.

This is my thought as well, Turk when they were operating with the machine and when Elliot was talking to JD towards the end the appearance of both of them was jarring enough that I pulled up recent pictures of them

Not trying to spark a debate. Just my personal observation.

You obviously used the most flattering pics out there (and I'm frankly too lazy to upload/link more current pics).

And don't get me wrong; i don't want to imply they're ugly, old curmudgeons. Just 20 years older. I think chalke just looks like she's used quite a bit of Botox and faison looks a little anemic, relatively speaking.

I'm as big a fan of the show as it gets btw. If anyone knows what it feels like to be 20 years older, it's me.

Carry on with show talk

watched episode 3 Thursday night. I must say, Elliott's speech got me in the feels about being old and alone after getting divorced.
Overall enjoyed the episode. The black IT guy was a funny add.

Very enjoyable 3 episodes. Has the feel of the old show with some modern medicine.

I also was not a fan of previously said spoiler. Guessing that will be resolved during this season.

4th episode was great. I'm so impressed that they have made this season feel exactly like classic Scrubs despite all the cast changes. Apparently Bill Lawrence really is the key.

Absolutely agree! They have modernized it well. I love the Turk storyline and how he is still a happily married man with daughter and juggling his work. Feels super relatable as I am a girl dad as well!

4 eps in- this show doesn't work if you haven't seen the original.

8 years in, 18 years later, what they're doing now is only funny bc it's a return "home", not because it needs to exist, or would even be funny, otherwise.

Do we need more than about 2 x 13 episodes of a "return home"? Probably not either.

But the general premise of the original run was "them growing up". Now that most of us who were watching this in 2008 have done a lot of growing the hell up, it's working sentimentally. After about 20 episodes, catch me another 20 years later if I'm still alive.

Watched Episode 4 today, still going strong. 2x Star Wars references always makes me feel good about Scrubs. need to get Mandy Moore back on for a cameo so they can bring back Billy Dee Williams as her godfather.

My son watched the fourth episode with me. He had never seen an episode. He thought it was pretty funny and is now binge watching from the beginning.
