IS the Maeve storyline wrapped up? How is it possible for her to have all that money and no one know it?

Maybe the writers are just going to let it alone and let us all imagine a wonderful future for her and the kids, but that would not be realistic. Someone wants that money.

I wasn't left with "it's all going to be wonderful ****s and giggles" as all 3 of these kids have had their father murdered and mom is gone. But the money does help them start to forge thru. And it's Robbie's final redeeming deed; I don't think they complicate or diminish that. Plus, there is a lot to wrap up with the other 3 stories.

It would have been nice for her to get laid, but instead she gets all of Robbie's kids, so she has that going for her.

I thought the preview for next week made it clear it's not.

No way it's wrapped up. Jayson and Perry got screwed. No drugs AND no money. Jayson was willing to risk it all with a shootout against FBI in the woods to get those drugs. Now that he's empty handed he's not just going to let it go. He's going after the drugs or the money, and I think he's going to suspect Maeve either has it or knows where it is.

In the preview for the finale next week there's a shot of Jayson physically threatening Maeve. He's 100% coming for the money. There's also a shot of Grasso looking nervous with his gun drawn. If I had to guess, Grasso is killed in a shootout but not before "redeeming" himself by killing Jayson, thus allowing Maeve to start a new life with the kids + the money.

I'll echo again - but the writers have been nailing it. The small asides, sometimes humorous, sometimes philosophical are really well done and keep the pacing going.

Aleah(?) found her bullseye badge from Lizzie.

I'll tell you what really through me off - was Grasso waking up on the couch and that man offering him a coffee. I thought "aww, he went back home with pops" but quickly realized that DEFINITELY wasn't the case. Have we seen that red headed middle aged man before? Is he DH or his local PD? I forget what city/state this is set in.

The actress playing Maeve has terrific. Whole cast has been impressive with no real weak links.

I'll echo what I said last week, which is still true after the recent episode. The only weak link or misfire in the show is having no explanation or background or motive for why Grasso is a mole. To have something be that big a part of the story, and to give no emotion or reason for us to care, is a very odd choice. It makes that part seem shallow. Like imagine if they had Robbie do all the drug busts but we didn't know the background of his brother, Jayson, etc. it would make that part of the story lack a lot of depth.

Still think the show is fantastic though.

I'm hoping they explain it in the last episode. With them mentioning it has happened on another previous case too, maybe Tom and his team do some digging and figure out a previous connection.

LOL. That sucks. Looks like he posted "WTB" which is just chumming the water for scammers, and this seller has no Ag Tag either. Come on people, you have to sharpen up.

Well, at this point he doesn't know that it's money not drugs, but yeah he's going to go back to Maeve's house to find out where it is. At least that would be my starting point if I were him.

We figure that the red-headed guy is Grasso's partner/former partner/boss in the PD that they recruited him from for the task force. He was probably also involved in the stuff that got the complaint against Grasso there. Remember, he says something about it being feds so he can't control IA or something like that.

I think the red-haired guy made an appearance earlier in the series. I think it was when they were putting the task force together. Could be wrong.

Yeah, he first appeared in the episode where the task force briefed Grasso's old unit about the sting at the park that night.

Btw, Bill Simmons says in this week's episode of The Prestige TV Podcast that he's heard (from his HBO sources) that season two is definitely "in play," then Brad Ingelsby basically confirms as much to Joanna Robinson, saying that if it happens it'll continue to revolve around Ruffalo's character. Granted, I fully expect season one to wrap up the current story, but it's good to know this world and at least a character (or two or three) will likely continue. Also, for what it's worth, Ingelsby comes across as one the nicest, most thoughtful people ever...

I thought this was interesting, how so many of the actors had to learn the proper dialect and overcome their own accents.
