Word of Reel is legit, btw, so this story likely has merit. Of course, Villeneuve will obviously have a huge say...

Indeed. Would that be a first? The first non-British Bond, at least?

Is British Actor Callum Turner the new James Bond? Production doesn’t kick off until 2027 for what will likely be a Bond “origin” storyline (his recruitment and rise to “00” status) making his babyface an asset—but betting lines have suddenly swung heavily in his favor. pic.twitter.com/272aACHmjw

Last week, European betting sites began listing Callum Turner as the favorite to play James Bond, and as surprised as I was to hear it, it sounds like the bookies may have been onto something. I'm told that Turner is, in fact, director Denis Villeneuve's top choice to play 007 and things are, indeed leaning in that direction, though it's still early days, and casting has yet to officially begin, so no offers have been made yet. Personally, I don't think Turner has it, as he was a black hole of charisma in Apple's big-budget Masters of the Air series, though he does look like a classic movie star straight out of the '40s, so perhaps he has the right look that Villeneuve wants for the character.

I disagree with Jeff and think that Turner, with Villeneuve at the helm, could be an inspired choice. That said, if this is indeed an origin story, at 35 he might be a little too old? Then again, he has a boyish look, seeing as I thought he was younger, so who knows...
