From writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood, The Master), working with his highest budget yet, one of biggest stars on the planet, and in IMAX no less. Penn's glee at playing a villain named Steven Lockjaw seems too on the nose, but I haven't read Pynchon's book so I don't know if it's supposed to come across with the same fervor of Baldwin doing Trump or something more light spirited.

Still, looks fun.

I liked the first one but the newest one (third in the OP) makes it seem like it's more of an action movie

Maybe they decided to try to reach a bigger audience

Random sidenote, does Leo have the best director resume of any working actor today?

The dude has literally worked with every single A-list, big name director out there. (Except for Villenueve and Wes Anderson I think?)

We're talking Scorsese, Spielberg, Nolan, Tarantino, Cameron, Boyle, and now PTA.

Well, I laughed out loud and won't forget that word combination. Even worse, I'll probably use it as an inside joke.....to myself.

Reminds me of an old favorite phrase I saw in a house listing, realtor said the floorplan was "deceptively efficient".
