Good episode. I don't know if you would say his performance has been Emmy nominee worthy, but John Cena has had some really strong moments this season.

Cameo was a little disappointing but really enjoyed this episode. Not sure how they can fit everything into the last one. It's been a great ride though!

I was thinking about this last night as well and I don't think this season gets wrapped up nice and neat like the first season did. Based on where we are plot wise and comments by Gunn, I think there end up being major loose threads left that get picked up by both the next superman movie Man of Tomorrow and the next season of Peacemaker.

Supposedly there won't be a third season, but the characters are supposed to pop up in other projects. I imagine the Waller show will feature them heavily.

Oh shoot, I hadn't heard that! Hmmmm, now I really am curious how they're wrap this up.

Going off the next episode teaser, I am guessing something or someone is going to be let loose from all the door hopping in the QUC. I wonder if we will get the big bad of DCU Chapter 1?

Well, that's disappointing. It seemed like they were setting up Keith as a big future antagonist.

Ok, that ep was kinda wild, enjoyed it. Definitely a sad ending for Chris though.

Gunn has said this season *directly* sets up Man of Tomorrow. He literally called it a "prequel" to that movie. And though it hasn't been officially confirmed, Gunn has all but announced that the villain of Man of Tomorrow is Brainiac. That said, casting hasn't yet begun, so it's not like Brainiac himself will appear here. Still, to your point, I wonder if there's a way to hint at him visually or through plot/dialogue or whatever in the final moments of the season finale.

I'm also wondering if we get another Lex cameo in that regard or what other heroes might make an appearance. They've said Superman won't be showing up, seeing as Corenswet was jealous that Hoult got to cameo in Peacemaker and he didn't, but that could all be bunk, who knows. In terms of setups/cameos I'm expecting to be underwhelmed, though I've loved this season and think they can land the plane overall.

Yeah that sucked and Chris finally had a father figure who seemed like a decent guy (at least compared to his own father) and actually believed in him enough to let him go and then Vig had to Vig.

Finale this Thursday and according to Gunn is the wildest episode they've ever done. To me it will be tough to beat their S1 finale but I hope they do.

Apparently Gunn scrapped a storyline that had the Murn of Earth X be a Harriet Tubman style character fighting with the Sons of Liberty. Murn is the main guy from season 1 that was a butterfly helping Peacemaker and the gang against the other butterflies.

I thought he fights with Reacher?

Agreed with both of the above posts. Great emotional moments with the group but plotwise for the overall DC universe....meh.

Buuut, TCTTS pointed out above that this is the last season of Peacemaker, so I guess I'm ok with how they resolved his story that's been told over these two seasons.

How is this the last season with that ending? Very disappointed if that's the case.

That was kind of a let down. There were parts that I liked, but it felt disjointed and not a complete story... more like a filler episode.

Agree it was a letdown.

I'm in agreement that it didn't deliver on a big-picture-DCU/Man-of-Tomorrow-setup level, to the point where Gunn needs to get the hell off of social media and quit overhyping/overpromising in that regard. I'm seeing so much letdown online due to that fact alone, and I totally get it.

That said, as a culmination of Peacemaker's character arc, and as an emotional finale for this chapter of the 11th Street Kids, I really, really liked it. In fact, I don't think their stories could have been wrapped up better. IMO, Gunn absolutely nailed that aspect. I would even go so far as to say that, minus the very last Salvation scene, altogether the complete Peacemaker season one > Superman > Peacemaker season two arc actually makes for one of the best superhero movie/TV arcs in years, and is certainly better than damn near anything Marvel has done since Endgame. And that's coming from someone who doesn't even really like the style of Peacemaker or Superman, it's just that the heart and the fun across those 18 hours are undeniable.

First, I'd totally forgotten about Lanterns, so now I'm all excited about that coming in 3 or so months.

Second, Gunn definitely has a knack for developing ensembles that you grow attached to. He did it with Guardians, now he did it with this group. I'm actually happy to hear we'll see more of these characters. So I can only assume he'll do it successfully with the "Justice Gang", despite how lacking the Hawk Girl character was in Superman.

Salvation and Flag/Luthor/Paperclip seems like it has huge impacts for the future of the DCU
