I've binged all three seasons since Saturday after the football game. This show is so good. I can't think of a single thing I don't like about it. I don't know why it took me so long to start watching it. Season 3 was my favorite by far. I'm looking forward to S4.

I think it's actually a pretty entertaining show. And agree that this last season was the best so far.

I enjoyed this more than house of Guiness, which was the last thing Id watched.

I binged through S3 in 2 nights. It was pretty fast paced and can't think of an episode I didn't like. Pretty underrated show. I like that they have (so far) stayed away from domestic politics for the most part. Sounds like S4 could get...spicy!

I've watched through episode 3.

This show tries WAY too hard on the "power woman" angle. Every white dude is a f*** up in one way or another and needs a woman or minority to fix their mess. It's makes me chuckle.

Enjoyed Season 3 a lot. Used to feel on the cusp of getting bored at times, but it would then come in with a great sequence just in time. Season 3 was consistently good though.

Are we watching the same show? Are you on S1E3 or S3E3?

Women in this show are the ones screwing things up and essentially creating the problems...including a really big one you probably haven't even seen yet in S3.

Season 3 didn't really have any filler episodes. Good show.

Didn't have this one high on my list but good to see the positive reviews, will have to bump it up in the queue.

Examples I can think of so far:

The "brilliant" Penn had to go behind incompetent Rayburn's back to save Clyde naval base in Scotland.

Hal is a loose cannon that says stupid crap all the time and even got himself kidnapped by the Iranians. He went around Kate's back to tell Rayburn about Penn's plan (and "killing" him) because he selfishly wanted Kate to replace her.

Trowbridge is an idiot hothead that gets played by everybody around him. Including when Kate convince him and Rayburn to deescalate with Iran.

Yeah, but making a not-so-thinly-veiled "lol woke libtards are stupid!" post is more important than the truth.

Just seems like confirmation bias to me.

Hal is flawed, but I think he is portrayed as intelligent and great at what he does.

Trowbridge is partly what makes the show interesting. Is the show better if he is a woman or acts differently?

I can't see how Penn is portrayed in a good or smart light. Half the time it seems like she doesn't know what is going on unless Kate or Hal is involved. That or what she is doing is bad.

British MI6(?) dude seems like a smart and decent guy.

Probably the two most noble and consistently "good" characters on the show are Stuart and Dennison. But of course they're black so I opened myself up for that one .

Hal is intelligent, but is selfish and makes irrational decisions that that Kate had to repeatedly "fix". Kate talks about him to Penn, like he's a dog that can talk. Like how to handle him and whatnot.

Regarding Penn, you don't remember Kate calling her a "brilliant and capable" in the first episode they met?

And Trowbridge is a joke. He's cartoonish and half dimensional. First he's a war monger, then somebody who tries to choke a woman to death, and now he just wants to take pictures with Kate all day. It's like he's meant to portray what the left thinks Trump is.

What gave you the impression that I was miserable? i said in my OP, that it made me chuckle. Hollywood tries so hard to change reality into their utopia-land.

Debra Cahn wrote the show. She's often putting strong women in leading roles. Grey's Anatomy, Homeland, etc.

But it's a fictional world. All the characters are flawed. There's nothing about any of the people being thrown in our face. Just enjoy the story...it's a good one.

Fun Fact, Cahn was a writer/editor on The West Wing.

Allison Janney (Grace Penn), was also a leading character in the West Wing, along with Bradley Whitford (Todd Penn).

So I finally finished the season.

First of all, this Callum Ellis guy came out of nowhere. So apparently she just so happens to be (committing career suicide by) banging a British Spy who also happens to be the expert on a Russian sub that recently sank or was about to sink. And the fact that he would share this with an ambassador (that he was banging) and NOT with the PM or other leadership, is laughable. Dude is either committing treason or is a double agent which is really bad for the supposedly "smart" Kate.

Secondly, the whole thing with the nuclear sub makes ZERO sense. In the last episode, when Callum tells Kate that the Russians got the Poseidon he acts like it's terrible news. If that were the case, how would it be terrible? They supposedly got their weapon back and "crisis" was mostly averted. They made it seem like a catastrophe so that when it comes out that Penn/Hal ordered it that it would be some WORSE catastrophe.

Yet the US getting it wouldn't be a catastrophe at all. We get Russian/Soviet weapons all the time. And when countries (like Japan) get a Mig-25 or something from a defector, they promptly offer it to the Americans since WE make their weapons that counter them.

However, the notion of the US entering British waters to fetch the Russian weapon would be an ACT OF WAR and yet the Russian's already having subs there is not? And that the British handing that weapon to the Chinese wouldn't be an even BIGGER DEAL is ridiculous. That would be like Viktor Belenko landing his Mig-25 in Japan and Japan giving it to the Chinese instead of the US. We'd cut defense ties with Japan, after all, if they are going to give THAT to China. Then what else are they giving to China? Are they giving China OUR aircraft too?

I basically have to watch this show and accept that when Kate acts like something is bad, then I am supposed to pretend that it must be bad. And if she thinks something is good, then I just have to accept that too. I have to turn off my brain, which is unfortunate for a show that is supposed to be "smart".

(Also, Kate in this season is basically unlikeable.)

We love this show.

The only political bias thing that really made my eyes roll was when she was having the 1:1 conversation with the Iranian(?) diplomat who used the Proud Boys as an example of a domestic terror group instead of antifa.

So much ridiculous fake news and bias with that comment. Otherwise great show.

There was one about Russians buying 2 elections, or something the that effect. Clearly a comment about Trump, despite the claim being long debunked.
