We just got tickets for Friday night! Didn't even look up reviews because it's predator. But cool to see it's at 88%!! Really looking forward to it

I'm going to see it tomorrow evening and I'm looking forward to it as well! I'll report back afterwards with a non spoiler review!

I wish I could go check it out this weekend but that's off the table for at least the next two weeks. With the initial good reviews coming out I'd recommend watching Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers, which are both on Hulu and directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also directed Badlands.

Ive read that the director made badlands to be able to watch without HAVING to watch the other HULU movies, but that it can give fans some more insight.

He's basically creating his own predator story, different planet, different dynamics. Im all for it.

I saw a preview for this a few weeks ago and it seemed like whoever wrote it has never seen the original Predator. It's like they just bought rights to use the name and the character design, and they plopped them into some bland off-world fight movie.

Predators fighting out in the open and behaving like they're walking around cutting wrestling promo's rather then being critical hunters who rely on the environment just as much as they rely on their equipment and skills.

The preview made it feel as much of a Predator movie as Thomas the Tank Engine feels like an appropriate re-skin of dragon models in Skyrim.

Its not a remake of the original (predator in the jungle hunting people) or of predator 2 (predator in the city hunting people). But, if you remember predator 2, like I do, when I was a kid seeing a T-Rex skull and an Alien skull in their ship...made my imagination go wild! All the cool possibilities of a predator species and all the crazy stuff that has gone on over thousands of years on hundreds of planets.

This director gets it in my opinion. The original cannot be topped, which is why all the sequels that have come out recently are okay, but not great. Just trying to do what the original did, but not as well.

Was meh about this movie until I watched "Killer of Killers" on Hulu recently. What a great show. Looking forward to catching "Badlands" when it hits streaming.

Looking back on the originals, which are some of my favorite movies ever, the predator's are kind of big p*ssies. Superior strength, superior weaponry, but also I'm invisible 95% of the time?

I will see it, but I'm a bit concerned with the rating. Maybe that's nothing, but just seems a movie like this should be R.

Probably no bad language between aliens and robots has a lot to do with that.

IIt got the PG-13 because there's no red blood. Apparently you can have unlimited alien blood and synthetic fluid.

So today I saw Predator: Badlands after work and it was freaking awesome! I love Predator 1, 2 and Predators and am kind of meh on the alien vs predator stuff even though I like them ok but this one was really good and there were lots of monsters and stuff in it. It was great and was something totally different than all the others and was a fun ride. That's my review haha.

Thanks for the review. It's one thing to read the critics, but very different when it's real fans. I can't wait this weekend.

Just got back. Saw it with my sons ages 11 & 15. It's was AWESOME!!!!!!!!! It was in the predator alien universe, but an entirely different story. 5stars!

Almost non stop action, and a good story along the way too.

Holy **** that's funny. Never seen that Skyrim video. Makes me want to fire it up again but for all the bugs. lol.

This Predator movie looks good. Can't wait to see it.

I saw yesterday and honestly, it was fantastic! Great action, good storyline, great CGI, lots of humor and some even cute moments at times. Kind of hinted at a sequel at the end so we will see.

This movie was fantastic, but honestly aliens versus predator from 2004 is one of my favorite.

it's by Dan Trachtenberg who also co-wrote and directed Prey which is arguably best sequel and closest to the original '87 film.

I saw it today and thought if was decent. It's much better than that garbage The Predator film by Shane Black who was actually in the original film. The CGI predator face doesn't hold up to an actual mask/prosthetic used in the original though.

No offense, and if you loved it, great. But "lots of humor and some even cute moments" is exactly what I don't want in my Predator movies, lol.

No, it doesn't take it over. You'll just see what I mean once you see how it plays out. It absolutely works with the storyline. Don't worry.

It's like watching Terminator 3. Completely different but A LOT of fun.

I LOVED it. Every second of the opening scene to the last line and last shot were so absolutely entertaining.

Saw this one today. I enjoyed it. I'd watch more in this storyline. I thought the design of the scenery was really cool. The species on the planet reminded me of an evil Avatar planet. Seeing the various lifeforms and what their "tricks" were was a lot of fun.

That movie was GREAT! Nice fresh take and well written. Often times, they've really fumbled the Alien to Predator tie-ins. While this one was 90% predator, the Weyland aspects were a very nice touch.

Also, I really liked the predator backstory. They didn't make them into victims. They just explained how ruthless that species is. Awesome

Good question... I guess I'd say it's a science fantasy version of Lethal Weapon. It's a buddy dramedy.

Like I said, I liked it. It's not mysterious and terrifying though. Predator is both.

Bingo. It's a Sci-fi movie that used the Predator name to lure people into the theater. Otherwise it would just be a generic sci-fi movie that most people would put off watching until it hit streaming.

Fair enough. We saw it last night and enjoyed it. It did have a different tone for sure.
