Wife and I currently have GVTC for television and Internet and are considering switching to YouTube or Fubo for television. If you have done this, were you happy with the switch? Also, thoughts on YouTube versus Fubo? Thank you in advance.

Yes, do it yesterday, yttv is better, but fubo isn't bad. They have free trials, you can try them both.

I have YouTubetv and like it. I tried Fubo a couple weeks ago and would put it as a close second.
I like youtubetv's interface better. Live guide still plays the channel while you're looking at the guide. Also, found it more responsive and faster.
Fubo seems to have a better channel line up especially for sports.

So it depends on the channels you watch as there isn't a major difference

If you're into sports, Fubo is the way to go. They have a channel for damn near every sport you can imagine.

The tiebreaker for me between YTTV and Fubo was being able to watch the Astros on Fubo

Also, if you watch Fubo via Apple TV, you have the ability to set up your own multi-view.

Since I only watch the news and sports on traditional TV, FUBO was the way to go for me and I save $40/month compared to YouTube TV.

Biggest difference and deciding factor for me in YTTV vs Fubo is multi view on YTTV. Can watch any 4 cfb games at the same time that are airing concurrently.

THIS^^^^

Love Hulu+Live TV.

One of the benefits is you get the Hulu original content which has a lot of good series. Nothing comparable from Fubo or YTTV. And about the same price.

You also have the Disney+Hulu+ESPN+ bundle or Disney+Hulu+HBOMax (and an option for ESPN Unlimited that includes the linear content - i.e. streaming the ESPN channels) if you want them that you can't get without Hulu.

If you are going to have Disney+ or HBOMax anyway it's a no brainer.

I get HBO Max for free so I do the Hulu+Live TV + Disney+ + ESPN+ bundle.

ESPN has that built into their app as well although it's only for ESPN games.

You're right, I should've clarified cross network multiview

I don't know what GVTC is, but I would go with YTTV over Fubo. I did the Fubo free trial and the UI functionality is inferior to YTTV and significantly slower. It was taking 2-3 seconds just to switch channels when I used it.

Hulu Live is also inferior to YTTV from a UI functionality perspective although you do get more classic TV content with Hulu from their separate Hulu service, if you like to watch old tv shows.

Fubo's platform is terrible. But it's cheaper and has certain sports options that YouTube tv lacks.

Not just old but also NEW. they have tons of original content. Some really good series and movies.

And I don't agree about the UI. I've tried both they are different but comparable really. Hulu takes some adjustment because it's set up for streaming more than just cable-like channels. For original content and add-ons too.

If NFL Sunday ticket is your thing you need YTTV.

But the other major advantage for Hulu is the bundled packages with Disney+ and ESPN+. If you are going to have them anyway, which I would, then you are saving more and getting original content from Hulu also. More bang for your buck.

They are comparable in the major channels and sports channels. Really the difference comes down to what you want besides that - more sports or more other entertainment content.

Hulu:
  • original content shows and movies included
  • Disney+ and ESPN+ bundles
YTTV:
  • Sunday ticket
  • specialty sports stuff like fantasy views and multiview options
The is really only one other differentiator other than that choice: YTTV is better in terms of traveling with your service. Hulu only allows it on portable devices (like laptops and mobile phones). You cannot take your Roku or Fire stick with you.

True on the content but I will continue to disagree on the UI. There are a lot of little things that Hulu does poorly or not at all compared to YTTV. It's just enough to piss me off that I won't use it. I'll buy Disney month to month as needed.

And now YTTV is getting ESPN Unlimited albeit that's up to a year away and we don't know how much it will add to monthly YTTV price.

This entire fractured world of streaming is a massive headache at this point regardless of who you pick. I will say that Apple TV's recent update to their Home Screen which consolidates all of the content you are currently watching across all streaming platforms to one hub is awesome and at least helps with jumping around from app to app.
