I'm seeing this tomorrow night, has anyone else seen it? I didn't find a thread for it.

I enjoy these movies, they are fun and well made and a bit of a throwback to movies from when I was young so they appeal to my nostalgia. But they wouldn't work if they weren't well written, directed, and acted.

I did prefer the first one, Glass Onion was enjoyable but I just enjoyed the first one more. Maybe due to Ana de Armas, so a bit of a cheat.

The first one was GREAT. The 2nd, meh, not as much.

I'll certainly give this one a shot, but I'll see it next weekend on Netflix.

I really wish they'd subtitle them as "A Benoit Blanc Mystery".

I was able to catch a screening last week. It's pretty different from the first two. Darker and less of ensemble cast. And I'd guess the least amount of Benoit Blanc screen time.

Enjoyed it. Hard to rank them because it's so different, but I think it's third for me. Just a touch above Glass Onion.

We enjoyed it, these are fun movies (to us).

I'd put it above Glass Onion.

Saw it last night. The first one and this one are both great, the second one was just ok.

The Glass Onion had some nice moments but the overall mystery and conclusion were very underwhelming and I remember being disappointed leaving the theater because I was such a huge fan of Knives Out.

Not sure but if you wait just one week from today it will release on Netflix. That's how I'm going to consume it.

We saw it at River Oaks Theater. Very limited theaters and I think last night was the last night before showing on Netflix.

Wife and I loved it. Much better than Glass Onion. More in line with the original.

Better than Glass Onion but really not by much...stretched out way too long. The first one is the best by a mile.

Finished last night and really enjoyed this one, maybe my favorite of the series but a clear #2 at worst.

Framing it around Catholicism allows for lots of meaningful symbolism and mythology, and I thought the subject matter was treated well and the cynicism of the different characters was explored in some interesting ways. I appreciated that Father Jud was presented as someone who truly believes in what he does and does it for the right reasons, flaws and all. Cy was also a spot on example of the weaponization of religion and how it can be twisted and used for the wrong reasons.

Loved the first. Enjoyed the second. Thought this one was not good at all.

And it's not even the stupid politics with the complete lack of self awareness (portraying the right as vicious monsters while complaining that the right characterizes its opponents as vicious monsters) - I actually appreciate the transparent politics of it, even if they are childish.

It was just a very silly movie and mostly a waste some some pretty good acting. The lead was great, but the story was just too silly, too loose, too bland.

We really enjoyed it. However, I didn't get why Martha poisoned herself at the end. Was that explained or was she just doing that as repentance?

I'll give you darker. I thought the cast was pretty good! In addition to Craig, there was Glen Close, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeffrey Wright and Thomas Hayden Church. Good stuff.

This could have used some editing to knock off about 30 minutes, but I liked it much better than the 2nd one. The Priest character was particularly good.

Really enjoyed it! My only complaint would've been the casting of Mila Kunis as a police grunt lol

Josh Brolin knocked it out of the park. Something seemed different with Jeremy Renner - then about halfway through I remembered his accident. I'm assuming this was filmed post tractor accident?

This highlights my biggest problem with the movie, which is that Andrew Scott was severely underutilized. So much so that you didn't even mention him.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. A close 2nd behind the first movie, with Glass Onion being a distant 3rd.

Rian Johnson can keep making these movies as long as he wants as far as im concerned. They're just plain fun.

I couldn't tell you anything he's been in, I didn't even recognize his name.

Couldn't disagree more. This is by far my favorite.

Mila was a bit out of her depth relative to the rest of the cast. She was...fine.

And yes, Renner's accident was early 2023, think this was his first feature after that (he filmed Mayor of Kingstown about a year after the accident).

Yeah as big of a crush as I have on her, she added nothing to this movie

If you haven't watched the Sherlock BBC series you're missing out, seriously.

He was also in one of the recent Bonds, Spectre I think.
