Thanks for keeping score... This is gonna be a crazy season. .. Even though we didn't pick Christian, we hope he makes it far into the game, we luv what he brings....
I made the judgement call before the season that only "Jeff" and "Mr. Jeff" were allowable as names to all our dear host, so Dee takes a double shot of -2 for calling him "Jeffery" twice during the episode.
Is this because of the Season 49 contestants trying to make "Uncle Jeff" a thing?
Now that it's been brought up, I'm pretty sure that I recall Dee calling him Jeffery *a lot* on her season, so that could be pretty painful for those the picked her.
Overall, not the most exciting episode. I'm not a huge fan of tribe swaps since it screws people over for the work they've done so far, but it is needed when one team is losing over and over again.
The show's subtle Tiff hate continues. When the tribe swap happened, there was the voice-over by Coach talking about the new Kalo saying "We've got muscle" - and they showed Colby, "we've got brains' and they showed Genevieve, and then "and we've got everything in between" - and they showed poor Tiff.
I think the the theme of Season 50 might actually be "unprocessed baggage". I expected it from Joe after the Kyle/Kamillia thing, but JFC Charlie goes scorched earth in his confessional to the camera about the rage he felt when he heard Rizzo say Soph was his #1 in the game, but he voted for Savannah - and it's worse because Rizzo was lying when he said it. Seemingly those two guys could have made a decent alliance - young, super fans, really intelligent in the game, but wow, Charlie, fired up!
Surprised there wasn't a lot more video of Q and Ozzie talking since they were in the first challenge and were both on Exile Island for a whole night, and Ozzie knows 100% that Q doesn't have a vote. Bitter double irony that Ozzy helps vote Q out after Q gives Ozzy his vote, and then Ozzy gives his extra vote to Cirie as a show of loyalty, and the next day there' on different tribes.
Here's a double gold-mine of Jonathan on You Tube. First, he competed on some kids show called Endurance back in 2007. Here he is at age 14 telling a girl how much she sucks at some competition they didn't win.
And here he is in 2018 at age 21 or so, breaking the world record for the most pullups done in one minute with 100 pounds strapped to your back. The old record was 14, he did 15. Coincidentally, 15 is also the number of regular pullups that I have done in my entire life.
Always interesting to see which actual Survivor contestants are generating the most points in the contest.
Top 5 so far are: 1. Genevieve: 8 Aubry 8 3. Coach 6 Jonathan 6 Kamilia 6
The Bottom 3 who haven't been eliminated yet are:
1. Dee: 0.5 (thanks, Jeffery) 2. Joe 1 3. Mike White 1.5
This obviously picks up when he hit the merge, but I do love me some data.
Rizzo voted for Sophi but said he voted for Savannah? I missed that
Maybe I said it wrong, he told Charlie and the others that Sophi was his "ride or die in the game" but that he voted for Savannah at Tribal Council. I think he wanted to not to be tied to Savannah in the new tribe. The lie was that Sophi was his "ride or die' when it was clearly Savannah from beginning to end. Thus, Charlie thinks he might be another Maria.

No, you're right. Perhaps he was trying to distance himself from her. But he makes videos with Sophi all the time and they're on tik tok lives together.
How about Emily just blabbering all of the secrets she knows to her whole new tribe? I felt bad for Christian but he did not need to tell her on the mat about the boomerang. Wait and see how the tribe swap plays out and then if she is on your new tribe too, you immediately pull her aside and tell her that it all just happened last night and fill her in

I couldn't believe how much Emily blabbed to everyone, and no one put all the pieces together and voted her out. Her mouth is going to get her in trouble real fast.
Agree - the threesomes seemed stuck in the middle and I wasn't sure why the didn't jus vote Emily out.
Q didn't have a vote, so it didn't really matter what his opinion was. Plus for all the drama of the move, Emily and Christian are still part of their core 4 with Devens and Cirie. If he took her out, it would be an obvious sign to the other 2 that he had turned on her immediately.
Anything can and will happen, but the new orange tribe seems like it is built for a run in team pre-merge challenges. Cirie is still the weakest link, and Rizo probably couldn't beat a 12-year-old in arm wrestling, but you have Devens, Charlie, Dee, Kamilia, and Jonathan is a really incredible 5 for challenges.
That's fair, but I wonder if Christian had that thought after Emily told him that she spilled every secret to everyone.
Also, I haven't watched Christian's previous season - does he always ham it up this much?
He had a really tight alliance with a girl that looked like it was a Showmance waiting to happen, she was a really cute nerd girl, Lisa Loeb vibes IIRC. It was also super awkward because they had a 'your loved ones are here' challenge, and the cute girl on the show was way better looking than his actual girlfriend.
I don't remember him being as gregarious around the other players, maybe because he was fearful of showing too much personality, but he was definitely that way in the confessionals.
ahh, here's the girl, Gabby, thanks Survior WIki
I think I might have posted it somewhere else, but if you didn't watch his season, you should watch this YouTube of the opening challenge of that year. He was on a slide puzzle portion and did it in like 4 seconds. It was one of the rare times that Probst has been utterly stunned during a competition.
FIrst of all, I felt overwhelmed with joy when Joe, Coach, and Colby wound up together and then immediately did what we all said they would, linked up in the honor alliance. Too funny, I laughed out loud.
Honor alliance... lol So Coach talks about his honor all the time and when it comes down to it, time after time he goes for strategy over honor. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion... it's Survivor and honor is not a requirement. The goal is to win $1 million. But what surprises me is after all that, he still gets to talk about his honor and no one (except maybe Ozzy) calls him out on it?
That's how it works?
No, I don't care what CNN or Miss NOW said this time
Ad Lunam
Soooooo PTSD is the theme of the season. Joe getting pantsed on national tv. Aubry and her ***** And good lord Charlie, that was rough even when Rizo was lying.

So, I don't know.
Just saw an interview with Sophie. His play was distancing himself from Savannah. it definitely backfired.
Have 4 of the top 5 on my team. Also Charlie….ouch. That vindictive Taylor Swift influence coming out this ep. Could probably write a killer break up song.

Finally caught up on all the episodes. Lol at Coach being associated with anything to do with honor and integrity. And Emily is probably the most annoying player other than Q. I hope Christian realizes she cannot be trusted with any information and cuts her loose or uses her for something.
Should I be concerned my 18 year old daughter calls Colby a Dilf?
The funny part is her grandmother is from San Angelo (near Cristbol) where Colby is from and I'm pretty sure she feels the same way about Colby.
Well my 65 year old mother and 31 year old sister said the same thing during the season opener. They had never seen old school survivor mostly started watching during the new era. They went gaga for him

My mil is pretty excited about him too. And she's from San angelo so she claims him as one of her own.
In the early days of Survivor, contestants could bring a singular "luxury item" (restrictions applied). Colby brought a big Texas flag, which his tribe used as a cover for their shelter. There was a shot of the flag in almost every episode, which my roommates and I always enjoyed seeing.
