Jason Bateman NEVER DISSAPOINTS!
I am not sure there is a better actor both comedically and dramatically.
there are better comedians and better dramatic actors- but name one actor who can do both as well as Bateman does.
really loved the first episode- and the wife of fat man is HOT

I'm enjoying it, but one thing that's bugging me is the apparent lawyer wasteland that is St. Louis. You're hauled in for questioning about the death of a friend, and the husband of your side piece and your first words aren't "lawyer"... in fact, those words are never spoken all the way through arrest and charges filed, DTF? more like WTF?Quote:

Seven episodes?
This isn't a bad watch but it seems like they've got to stretch a lot to fill that much time.
I think the murderer is Jason Bateman's wife.

I've only seen the first episode but I'm going with umpire wife. She wants out and using these two to take them out and get her free to ump the world. I also think her self help podcast could help her motivate and control others.

I would say Robin Williams would be #1 all time

Yeah, this bugs me for sure. But, people fail to ask for lawyers all the time in the real world because they're sure that, a) they can lie their way through the interrogation, and b) they really are innocent. Either way, always lawyer up.

She has access to the nerd bike, Bateman's online DTF profile (more than likely) and his recent prescription meds (the murder weapon).
Or the Hottie Ump planned it all along because the husband has some fatal disease or other stuff never mentioned that will be some weak sauce surprise reveal.
BUT...BUT...the gay lover sidepiece is still, literal and figurately, a player in a potential Indian Jones bizarre love triangle.

I'm going to slow play this one. Meaning if there is some exciting buzz throughout the season or I might try episode 2 but not sure this is for me. I've never been a Bateman homer. This feels like someone said "Lets do a show that has Nathan Fielder vibes but was director by Yorgos Lanthimos and appeals to the true crime podcast demographic."

The funniest part of this show is the St. Louis detective played by Richard Jenkins. He is giving a master class in facial expressions and ways to tip toe around subjects he finds embarrassing.
I have never been a huge fan of his work, but he is terrific in this role.
