I have perpetuated the lie to my parents that I don't do Bonfire, that is until my damn 6 and 7 year old nephews found my ax and hatchet in a box under my bed. I had put them there thinking that noone would have any reason to look there while I'm in Colorado for the summer. Oh well...it was good while it lasted.

and yet they never question the 6 knives you keep on you at any given time. Or the razor blades in your hat?

They never questioned any of that, or after growing up in suburbia, how I happened to pick up how to swing an ax.

I actually do carry 6-8 knives almost all the time. When I got to church, I only carry 2. I don't do that much knife work there. I have actually installed a ceiling fan using only tools out of my pocket.

BEcause of Bonfire, I've finally graduated from school, hell it only took around 5 years or so. I've made some of the best friends a man could ask for. And because I took so long in school, I've gotten my "right out of school" dream job in town, so I can still go out to cut and stack if I feel like it! WHOOP!

Because of bonfire, I am making life long friends, enjoying life, learning what a real aggie is, and building a better me. This topic should stay on-top allways its a great recruiting tool and something that everyone should read and add to.

Because of Bonfire, I have a lot of fantastic memories. The best was having my Aggie '85 girlfriend and all our family at the burn in '83 when I proposed and she accepted. Been married 23 years, and the fire is still burning strong.
