Thank you! White men are only surpassed by Native American men when it comes to alcoholism, drug addiction, overdose, and suicide. Universities and doctoral programs admit and graduate more women than men, and the ratio grows worse every year. On average, the outlook for young white men is as bad as it has ever been in the US when it comes to career success, a sense of purpose, and a happy family life. White male privilege seems a bit overrated. Sadly, some people will hear these statistics and consider all that suffering a sign of progress

I could have had a better choice of words. Because you're right, we've made a ton of progress in this regard. Still, we know who our government really works for and who is calling all the shots. Not necessarily all "rich white men" but the big business interests who will make sure they get what they want, and we all know the common demographic of these folks.

And as far as history goes, yes, this country since it was founded catered to that group of people. It's taken two and a half centuries to get over that hump and there's still work to do and a lot of obstacles in the way, one of them being P2025

I'm not sure if you've paid attention to some of those conservative Christian gatherings like CPAC and one other that I forget the name of, but they have in recent years constantly framed Christianity as under attack and have spoken about modern society in that context. They say pretty dark things too, like "this means war" and perpetuate the groomer panic and describe any forces outside their circle as "evil." It's hard to understate how dangerous this type of language is. But it's effective, and it's influenced a lot of legislation and legislators. That's why I'm speaking out against it so strongly.

I rarely watch politics. I am a Christian with conservative beliefs who happens to live in the US. And the great state of Texas. And the beautiful country west of CS.

It seems to me to be very simplistic thinking that all conservative Christians think like CPAC or any other group.

My king is Jesus, therefore I can not be oppressed. And my true citizenship is not of this world.

As you stated before, you and I are different. I wish you knew the Lord as you seem very angry. Heading to church to worship God. I wish you would try it sometime.

While conservative Christianity is a belief system I don't personally subscribe to and I have a lot of issues with it, I have been careful to not make blanket attacks on everyone who has those beliefs. The OP was about the upcoming presidential election, and there has been a greater effort to inject this set of beliefs into government and society, and that's what I have a big problem with. For the reasons that were discussed ad nauseum yesterday.

I'm angry about some things, yes. Concerned about others. I have no apologies for feeling the way I do, though I appreciate your concern. Enjoy church.
