Gonzales is spending heavy on P2A texting and direct mail. This is the same tactic Abbott used to knock out about 8 state reps who had fairly good track records. I guess that in the upper middle class enclave of Medina Lake Gonzales loses. El Paso, Uvalde, Eagle Pass and Del Rio may go pretty solid for Gonzales. If all the voters who backed the other 3 candidates (and one has to assume that folks who bother to vote in primaries will show up for runoffs) get behind Herrera, he has a very realistic shot, even a good shot, at unseating Gonzales.

Regardless of who wins the primary, I hope everyone understands the real enemy is the democrat.
If your guy doesn't win the primary, it's still ultra important to vote for the Republican candidate in November even if you have to hold your nose.

Can't fix stupid, but the conservatives should at least attempt to replace any Republican that supports gun control during the primary. The place to make changes is in the primary and a Democrat win in this scenario would be the fault of the idiot establishment voters that refuse to support the conservative in the general. They don't get to blame their poor decision making in the general on primary voters.

Gonzales hasn't lost the mainstream voter because he's done some woke stuff required to maintain mass appeal in CD-23.
