Always carry, especially off the beaten path
Exactly. I get a chuckle out of national and state parks when there are signs saying "No guns allowed." Yeah, ok bro.
I've had this discussion with cop friends. They're often surprised when I tell them I'd happily pay the fine for carrying…because I'm alive to do so.
Not illegal to carry in national parks, just illegal to discharge a firearm.

He left both girls there after killing the parents. Not sure the pedo angle is correct.
But who knows?
It's just tragic and sickening.

He was allowed to resign from Flower Mound after being inappropriate with young girls. Unreal.

Sometimes you can just tell someone is going to be trouble.

You defend yourself and/or family and not worry about the repercussions. I'm sure there is some sort of basic charge, like negligent discharge of a firearm, but who is going to write that ticket?

Regarding the lack of charges, this points out the lack of courage among school officials and boards. They would rather cover their own mistakes, and shuttle this piece of trash to someone else's district.
Decades ago, we had a thief in my small farm community. When he finally got caught red handed with evidence, the lawyer blamed the cop who saw him steal, and slandered the witness who also happened to be there
Once he went to trial, a dozen or more people went public with stories of how they had caught him stealing, and he conned them into giving him another chance.
I had about $500 worth of items stolen in the same time frame. Due to the nature of the items, the timing, and the location, I am 99.99% certain he was the thief.
So I have little sympathy for people who simply didn't renew his contract, when he deserved charges

Speaking of beating. Let's hope he gets one in prison.

What date were the murders? The linked article doesn't say anything.

From what I've been reading, his behavior seemed inappropriate at times, his behavior revealed some red flags, and he seemed like the creepy kind of guy who might abuse a child. But none of these are crimes. There was nothing technically to report and no charges to file. Just a general creepiness and perhaps a few minor protocol infractions. Maybe they did a few internal investigations and found nothing beyond minor infractions & creepiness. We don't really know based on what's been reported. Proactively firing him (or not renewing his contract) based on those red flags is what it sounds like they did, and I applaud them for it.
It sounds like the schools didn't cover up a crime; it sounds like they probably prevented one.
And yes, I agree that nobody should have hired him in the first place, and I guarantee they'd agree with as well. But sadly, there aren't enough teachers to go around and sometimes schools have to scrape the bottom of the barrel.

See this is the problem. He should've been fired and charges should've been at least brought up. They may not have been carried through, but just letting people go when they do bad things is not OK. This seems to be what the Democrats and liberals and lots of education just wants to do today. I mean, look at the woman in Cincinnati basically making excuses for those thugs up there for being drunk, etc.

Spot on.
The principal who failed to report him should be fired. And this is a great lesson for parents. GO TO THE POLICE when your child reports inappropriate behavior. The schools will many times brush it under the rug.
