Young black males harm people of other ethnicities at a much higher rate than they are harmed by people of other ethnicities. Who are the real "victims"?

Some people I know have been burglarized numerous times by young black males, my friend and his fiancee were pistol whipped getting into his truck after a date in Dallas years back, my ex GF had a gun held to her head for her purse in Houston by a black man, I have had my my truck broken into twice, and I am assuming it wasn't the Amish. One time after Katrina a black dude in midtown started beating on my driver's side window after i got in my truck because I refused to pay him $5 for "making sure nothing happened to my truck"...I pointed my Glock at his face and he sprinted away at 5-star speed...not sure what else I could have done to de-escalate the situation.

Young black males commit a vastly disproportionate amount of violent crimes, yet we are supposed to keep pretending that they are perpetual "victims" and that we are all the bad guys. F that, I'm done with that nonsense. Want to talk "victims"? How about the 40-something year old Vietnamese-American mother of 3 who will never walk again because two black youths body slammed her to the ground after taking her hard earned money that she had just pulsed out for her trip to visit family in Vietnam?

He blames some nebulous "culture" for all the ills of the black community.

He can't be helped.

They've been brainwashed from birth. It's like trying to convert a Catholic to Protestantism or vice versa after they've been raised in those religions from birth. It's almost impossible.

I have met and worked with a lot of Kenyan immigrants and they are completely different. Cultural and work ethic much more like Asians. They don't even consider themselves part of black culture. And many of those in black culture ostracize and demean them. And I can see why. Kenyans are black but excel academically and financially when they come here. So it forces many black Americans to have an internal reckoning with their own culture.

I have 2 employees, siblings from an African nation, who are EXTREMELY intelligent. They read/write and speak something like 6 or 7 languages. Work ethic like us browns.

It's a uniquely U.S. black mindset.

I could only make it through a few minutes of that video. That kid's mind is warped. God help him.

Yes, there are some africans with a very different mindset. That said, when I'm referring to ancestors, I'm talking about a particular part of Africa. One that is dysfunctional to this day. I'd also highlight that some black Americans do escape it, not unlike some from Africa. But on the whole, it's a mess. Here and there.

He does strike me a an affable and likeable student. He is an Aggie, so that affords him a bit more patience with me, knowing that he is certainly friends with a bunch of Conservatives. He is also the product of a two-parent home. Kirk points out it's no coincidence he is at a great school like TAMU and defying the odds. Wish he could see it.

I don't know why a student tries to have an intellectual conversational debate like that. It may be good experience but their life experience cannot back up their arguments. Debate other students so it is level playing field.

He's not wrong, it is a "culture". An internal culture. But instead of changing it to something positive they celebrate it and want to play the victim. The sad part is that it hasn't been that way for all time, it has just been developing since the sixties into what it is now. It could be fixed but most don't want to fix it and if someone within tries, they are called derogatory names. What blows my mind? We all grew up together, went to the same schools, had many of the same influences and yet many of them purposefully perpetuate a broken model of a different culture.
