Small town, people know each other. If the incident started at a bar or something, even someone from out of town might have shown ID or used a credit card. There's no reason to assume anything suspicious about getting the shooters ID fast.

Now noticing the difference in how the media handles reporting it versus shooters in other identity groups is another matter.

In 1903, the Socialist Party of America won its first victory west of the Mississippi when Anaconda voters elected a socialist mayor, treasurer, police judge, and three councilmen. The copper company put an end to that pretty quick, but apparently the left-leaners are still around. A Republican president has not won the vote there since 1924.

In summary, this ends up being just another violent Democrat even out in a small 9000 population town. Who woulda thunk it in friggin' Montana?

Most amazing fact is that he was able to shoot six people in that small rural setting. Probably a bar was the only possible location it could happen, if they don't have a WALMART.
