Interesting. The reporter actually corrected it from Muslim to Christian. And then Obama casually corrects it. And just keeps talking.
Of course we don't know what the conversation was right before this though.
I don't remember this, but it was about 17-18 years ago. Of course social media is a lot smaller than. I think this is about the same time that Facebook and Twitter came out. So it wouldn't have made the rounds as quickly like today.
I think he described stepfather as: following "a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths."
There does seem to be information that Obama attended Catholic schools and other things growing up, so this truly may be just a slip of the tongue, but still, very interesting.
