While her lawyer husband was on a hunting trip, Kindred slept with the boy at her home in Spokane, Washington, in November 2022. The two engaged in a three-and-a-half-hour-long sexual act, and afterwards took a shower and "hung out".

Their perverted story began in June 2022, according to court documents. The boy told investigators that he started following Kindred on Instagram, and they began exchanging explicit messages. The messages were later uncovered by a friend of the teen who got into his Instagram account

The only thing I can think might make it somewhat more common is more and more high school teachers are younger. When I was a kid, I had exactly only four female teacher under the age of 50, and those were kindergarten, first, second, and third grade. All my teachers beyond that were older than my mom, or were guys.

Oh, I understand that, if they'd met somewhere else, how criminal would it be? And LOL, "power over him" what horny 17 year old would turn that down. The age of consent in Texas is 17. The only legal infraction was being his teacher. Blatantly immoral, just not as egregiously horrible as is being made of it. She didn't get jail time.

The age of consent doesn't apply to sex between high school students and teachers

Also, the age of consent in Texas is sometimes not clear It would depend on the exact charges. I think it is 18 if the charge involves the "sexual performance of a child".

Your claim to which I responded only said if they were two years older. Adding only if he's still her student AFTER the fact, doesn't make what I said wrong.

My school was scandalized in the late 90s when our Spanish teacher got caught with an 8th grade boy.

So this has been happening for decades.

I was 2 years behind him, and the number of overnight trips my parents sent me alone on with female teachers for the next 6 years continues to stun me. It was a lot. I would never allow that for my son.

There's a lot more access for grooming now. And a lot of events I could deliver my kid to, rather than him alone with his female teacher, while still working remotely.

It's been happening. And men with female students, too. Coaches and band directors were notorious for this.

In the past, teachers would quietly disappear and go find another job somewhere else, and repeat. The laws making it illegal and that require reporting by the school district are exactly because offenders often got away with it. School district officials didn't want the notoriety.

Back in the 70s, more of teachers banging each other. (We had male teachers in the 70s who liked the miniskirts young female teachers wore back then.)

I will say, that confused me because I would have sworn that male art teacher was gay. Gaydar missed that one!
