The fake Christian nonsense is tiring. Unless you're the reincarnation of Jesus Himself, you are not the gateway to Christianity. Thinking you are, ain't any better than the hate being spewed at him. I'm a Christian through Jesus, and Him alone. Neither I, nor anyone else needs your approval to be a Christian. You'd think Christians would know who actually determines if you're a Christian.
People can be Christians and use the Bible to achieve their own ends, by lying about the contents or intention of the Bible.
When you say that in the Bible God gave Mary a choice in whether or not to carry and birth Jesus and use that claim of query and consent as a justification for abortion you are lying about what is in the Bible and you're doing it to shame your biggest ideological opponent's claims about what morality is with regards to abortion. God says abortion is okay, why are you going against God is his claim.
Problem is Mary isn't asked. She is told. And rather than fight the will of God she consents to the nature of reality and says she is God's servant. At minimum it can be said he's *******izing the text.
Posted this earlier and removed it because didn't want to derail, because it turns out it's from a year ago, but:
Here's another example of a Presbyterian Minister exploiting the mercy that Jesus has for people, or the protection he shows them from the mob of judgement and uses that as an avenue to extend it beyond forgiveness into affirmation for sin. That Jesus would have been escorting women through abortion clinics, holding their hands during the procedure and shielding them from criticism:
It's a misrepresentation of what patience and forgiveness is. It's basically saying that in order to exhibit those characteristics you have to affirm sin.
When people do that, they're not living and understanding what they say they believe.
