The racial makeups of universities have changed a lot since the 2023 Supreme Court decision on affirmative action. And this website allows you to look at this.
Of course re: the title, 2018 is well before 2023. But I just think the drop in whites at TAMU is almost entirely accounted for by the increase in Asians.
In 2024, A&M is 48.2% white (down from 55.9% in 2018). Asians are 17% in 2024, and 10.6% in 2018.
UT-Austin was 36.7% white in 2018, now down to 27.9% white in 2024.
A big chunk of the increase there is the increase in "unknown" race which presumably is people who chose not to disclose their race on their application or in their paperwork for the university.
