The Extreme Right has never considered any Democrat a *true Christian* since the early 1980s, when they decided to collectively rewrite what that term means, objectively irrespective of what the Bible says. It's a very old song.

I certainly know what it is not…….

James Talarico is trying to disguise his liberal extremism by pretending that he is a moderate Christian man, but his tweets and votes indicate that he has progressive views.

1. He says that God is nonbinary.

2. He thinks there are six genders.

3. He stood up in front of the Texas house and tried to stop a bill banning trans men from competing in women's sports. He called men in girls' sports a "far-right conspiracy theory."

4. He called illegal aliens his "constituents" and gave them advice on evading ICE in 2019.

5. He argues that ICE has become a "rogue organization" and calls for it to be completely dismantled and replaced with an agency that focuses on genuine public safety rather than "hunting down" citizens and families

6. He advocated for dismantling the state's prison systems. He has famously argued that "prison is violence". He frequently champions the idea that the entire penal model should be reimagined to focus on healing, education, and addressing the root causes of crime rather than government institutionalization.

7. He voted against laws that cracked down on violent criminals and human smugglers.

Gov. Greg Abbott signed H.B. 20 in September 2021, tightening bail restrictions for violent criminals. The law was named the "Damon Allen Act" for Texas DPS Trooper Damon Allen murdered in 2017 by a suspect out on bail. The state House passed H.B. 20 in May 2021, by a vote of 98 to 46. Talarico voted no.

Abbott signed S.B. 4 in December 2023, setting a mandatory 10-year prison sentence for smuggling humans and setting a mandatory 5-year sentence for running a stash house where criminals store contraband like drugs, guns, and people. The state House passed S.B. 4 in October 2023, by a vote of 92 to 54. Again, Talarico voted no.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/prison-violence-talarico-radical-takes-133218406.html

I hope Ken Paxton paints James Talarico's numerous radical tweets and votes and his association with former President Barack Obama as too liberal for Texas. I think Paxton will win by 3-5% to keep this Senate seat red.

God is referred to as "Father" 15 times in the Old Testament and 165 times in the New Testament. No where is God referred to as an "it" or "thing".

The Bible supports abortion because Gabriel gave Mary a choice to carry Jesus…

What in the ever loving **** is THAT?

I mean, I know that you aren't defending that statement, but who in the hell says something like this? That is absolute crazy talk.

Mary was given a choice before conception. Every women has a choice before conception. After conception the choice has been made.

Luke Chapter 1

30 And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. (ESV)

35 And the angel answered her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holythe Son of God.

Mary was not given a choice, the angel foretold what was going to happen, and Mary followed in obedience.

Luke 1:38
"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May your word to me be fulfilled." Then the angel left her.

It is a choice, we have free will, even Mary.

The angel definitively told Mary what would come to pass and she accepted that. I don't see it as the angel asking permission. She was God's chosen instrument to be the mother of the prophesied savior of the world.

Still not a choice in Mary's case. She was acknowledging God's will, and as it has been pointed out, it was before conception in any case so the abortion argument Telarico tries to make is ridiculous on its face.

Additionally, even if she DID have a choice in this matter and it WAS after conception, what he is essentially saying is that had this 'abortion' taken place, it would have denied the world the gift of Jesus Christ. In other words, there could be consequences of unimaginable magnitude based on one arrogant choice by a single person.

There have been untold millions of abortions in the world. How many lives that could have changed the world in a significant way were murdered before they even had a chance.

The point he is trying to make actually undercuts the support for abortion if you get past the stupid superficial sophistry of his argument.

You can also use the account of Zechariah (father of John the Baptist) - and how he questioned the angel delivering the news of his wife bearing a son. Really doesn't sound like a situation where there is much of a "choice" being given to either party imo.

Luke 1:13 - 6:14

13 But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John. 14 He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15 for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born. 16 He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God. 17 And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteousto make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

18 Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years."
19 The angel said to him, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. 20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time."

What do you not get?

You WILL conceive...

The Holy Spirit WILL come upon you..

This is the language of the future. It is not saying "you HAVE conceived...", the Holy Spirit HAS come upon you...". She can't abort what isn't inside her womb.

I think you're trying to argue what you want and not what the text actually says. Why are you doing this? What do you fear in recognizing what it actually says?

Lord, open his eyes so that he may see!

He's the choice of the Republican Party in Texas, meaning he will support economic approaches centered upon the private sector, a holistic energy policy unfettered by global warming quackery, a military policy where the warfighter comes first over the choose your gender chick with a **** and an immigration approach where border security and enforcement of the law comes first.

Where does Trannarico fall on those issues?

This was before Mary conceived, but God knows the end from the beginning and is not confined to time, which He created. Yes, Mary had free will. He already knew Mary's choice. But even assuming Mary had the choice to say no to the angel, or even to abort the saviour of the world, it would have been the choice to sin or not to sin. Much like mothers today have the choice to sin by aborting their babies.
IN NO WAY DOES THIS MEAN GOD APPROVES OF OR EVEN TOLERATES THE ABORTION OF HIS CREATIONS.
