I am old enough to remember when various posters were claiming the economy stunk because they knew people who were unemployed.

and I remember there were those of us who stated the ACTUAL EVIDENCE pointed to an extremely strong economy.

I am skeptical as well, something is not right. I need more details about these jobs.

• Are they even real jobs?
• Have Americans been hired in these jobs?

Many companies create fake jobs and post them and don't hire or eventually get a visa person.

I demand the administration to post the job title, job location, company hiring, wage paid, nationality of person who accepted the offer.

If they dare to do so, you will see the smiles fade away.

Stock market is booming, job market is in the tank.

You are right that the economy sucks for middle and poor class. No jobs for new grads even in good majors. But this administration keeps posting fake or misleading numbers and the Boomers rejoice that life is as good as it was back in 1955.

The rich get richer and the poor/middle class struggle to stay where they are or just get poorer. Many are one layoff away from ruin. Even some of my friends are. The stock market will correct but there will be any insane correction because the rich tech owners get rich through the stock market, not slaving away like dumbos. They make their money work for them. I realized this 12 years ago and so feel pretty safe. Everyone else should think in these terms too, their jobs won't last for long or they may be aged out.

I may be unemployed in the near future, and that will stink very much for me.

But then again it may be an early retirement, and maybe not stink so bad.

I am currently unemployed, and as I have mentioned before, 4 of the 6 men in my bible study are out of a job. All of us in our 50s.

Yes, there are sectors that are doing well (Construction for example), there are important sectors that are getting hammered (any Tech not directly related to AI)

In Tech, Its taking 4-8 months to get a new job, and almost always with much lower pay. There are undoubtedly exceptions, but this is the anecdotal evidence. Across friends, across people in the industry, across recruiters.

It's also exceptionally hard for new grads in STEM majors, again there are exceptions. But none of this bodes well for the midterms.
