Cliff notes:

Bloomberg is funding state legislation around the country that requires all computer controlled subtractive or additive manufacturing to be connected to the Internet and have all files run through a fire arm components detection algorithm.

This impacts CNC Lathes, mills, routers, etc, far beyond desktop FDM 3D printers.

Who is going to trust that process? Seems like an easy way for someone to steal proprietary designs by bribing a govt employee

No way this is Constitutional. Not that it ever stopped a lib from trying.

Texas needs to pass laws NOW to prevent this sort of stuff in any manufacturing/3d printing equipment. Otherwise, we end up with another Cali situation where states that adopt such legislation end up setting a de facto national standard.

Prevent the equipment from having this nanny/spy-ware in it and they will be forced to make it optional for different states. Manufacturing then will (continue) to migrate to red states.

Anti-2A is a fetish for the left.

It won't have the intended effect, which is presumably to stop firearm deaths. The way to impede firearm deaths to is prosecute and imprison the humans who use firearms to kill other people.

The state of Washington has affectedly banned 3D printers and unlicensed CNC machines. All CNC operators have to report to the state.

(It's either Washington or Oregon, it might be Oregon. Pretty much the same state at this point anyway.)

Do libs realize we do not have a gun shortage problem in the United States so banning the manufacture of weapons is about as effective as banning wagon wheels?

Like climate change, "in the interest of national security", child safety, etc... firearm panic is another means to a totalitarian end. I'm sure the government would love to eliminate as many firearms and derivatives as possible, but they'd like universal control of mechanisms of production even more.

All part of the left's "death by a thousand cuts" strategy to gun control. They could care less about the consequences of such actions and whether or not they are effective.

They're closing the loopholes before confiscation. They play the long game.

When they come for confiscation, you shoot them.
