I'm kind of speechless on this GWOT memorial design...not sure what is has to do with honoring those that fought in it.
It takes everything that a lot of folks didn't like about the Vietnam Memorial back in the day and doubles down. This is one where I hope Trump gets involved and has something built that actually honors the war-fighter.
For the record, my beef with the Vietnam Memorial is still how it is placed on the mall; and the fact that it was an afterthought to actually include a small statue with the soldiers in it. You have to be in the Memorial it to see it. It's like they tried to hide it underground instead of creating something that exalts those that sacrificed. Once you can actually find it; it is great.
Rant over. What process results in something like this coming back.
The Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation (@GWOTMF) has released the design concept for the GWOT Memorial which will be built on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
