Howdy Ags,

I'm seeking my next full-time opportunity in Aggieland after relocating back to Texas from North Carolina. I have years of experience working in sports media and strategic communications, but recently experienced burnout from working in the sports industry. I'm to the point where I really just want some work-life balance out of my career, which is really tough to find in the sports industry. Upon returning to the Bryan-College Station area, I'm also learning that I'm not all that interested in working in communications settings that are unrelated to sports/athletics. So, I have basically come to the decision that I am ready to make a career change.

I've been aiming at administrative roles since my skillset aligns closely. I like office work and don't mind doing tedious tasks. However, I'm really open to anything and also very eager to learn something new. I possess advanced written and verbal communication skills, know how to juggle multiple projects and have consistently met deadlines with a focus on attention to detail.

Just a little more about me...
I'm unfortunately not an Aggie, which I think has been a tough factor in my job search in the area. My girlfriend (an Aggie) led me to College Station back in 2022. I'm originally from Mankato, Minnesota, and moved down to Cedar Park in 2022 to work with the Texas Stars. My job with the Stars was a seasonal position. So, after I moved to College Station, I even worked here with TexAgs for about half a year.

Last year, I moved out to North Carolina to chase a college athletics job and spent a little over a year there before my girlfriend and I quickly agreed it was time to move back here for good. She works at TAMU and is ecstatic to be back in the office. I am thrilled to be back as well (aside from being unemployed and writing this post).

Anyways, if you know of anyone or anywhere that is hiring, I would love to connect with more people around Aggieland! Here is my LinkedIn profile. Since it doesn't appear I can attach a PDF here, there is a copy of my resume featured in my profile.

Thank you for your time,

Connor Wachtel
