Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Director of Operations to lead and optimize
our field operations. This role is responsible for managing field personnelincluding
superintendents, assistant superintendents, and delivery driversand ensuring projects
are executed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
This is a leadership role for someone who takes ownership, solves problems proactively,
and drives measurable results. As operations scale, this role will expand to include
oversight of estimating and project management functions.
What Success Looks Like (First 612 Months)
Improve on-time project completion
Reduce field-related delays and rework by 20%+
Establish and enforce consistent field processes across all crews
Implement and track KPIs for labor efficiency, project timelines, and quality
control
Improve communication between field, estimating, and procurement teams
Build a reliable, accountable field leadership structure
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations Leadership
Lead daily field operations with a focus on efficiency, quality, and accountability
Directly manage and develop superintendents, assistant superintendents, and
drivers
Enforce safety standards, quality control processes, and job site discipline
Quickly identify and resolve field issues before they impact timelines or budgets
Project Execution & Oversight
Own project timelines, labor performance, and operational execution
Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Identify risks early and implement corrective actions
Maintain clear communication with internal teams and stakeholders
Estimating & Preconstruction (Growth Scope)
Support bid strategy and job selection aligned with company goals
Partner with estimators to ensure accurate and competitive bids
Provide field insight into labor, logistics, and execution planning
Contract & Procurement Coordination
Oversee transition from awarded bids to active projects
Ensure submittals and contract requirements are executed properly
Coordinate material procurement, delivery schedules, and job readiness
Performance & Process Improvement
Develop, track, and enforce operational KPIs
Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable processes
Continuously improve workflows across field and project operations
Team Leadership & Accountability
Build a culture of accountability, performance, and ownership
Mentor and develop field leaders into strong operators
Address underperformance quickly and effectively
Reporting & Communication
Provide clear, consistent reporting on project and operational performance
Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a construction leadership role managing field teams
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
Strong understanding of construction operations, project management, and
estimating
Ability to lead teams, enforce standards, and drive accountability
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
Proficiency in construction management software (Procore preferred) and
Microsoft Office
Compensation
$90,000 $130,000 base salary, depending on experience
Performance-based bonus tied to operational results
