One S seems like it wouldn't run it very well even at 1080p. I think they dropped support for that gen now too so you don't get patches or expansions.

Damn thought that might be the case. Have been thinking about getting a next gen console of some kind, but it's just hard to justify since I don't game tmuch anymore. The XB1 is still plugging along perfectly for all of our streaming as well, so I haven't had a need to upgrade.

I will say that the game runs REALLY well on the Series X on performance mode. The framerate feels like it stays at 60 fps consistently and I haven't noticed any major glitches or issues. Looks great and plays great.

Currently working on my 2nd playthrough and I got the DLC as well. The game is in a really great place now with the updates. Definitely one of those games worthy of upgrading your console for.

I got an 8K TV on a deal and am really excited to try this considering I beat this game on a really old TV three times and absolutely loved it. Hope it looks as great as I think it will on my next playthrough.

Decided to start a new playthrough with a melee build because i've never done it. Play on Very Hard and it definitely is at the beginning as melee only.

Melee is fun. I'm using a lot of that in my 2nd playthrough. I'm on "medium" difficulty I think and it's pretty easy now that I'm leveled up. I'm using the cyber tech that slows down time / speeds you up... just like they used in the Netflix Edgerunners show.

It's a lot of fun using swords and throwing knives... very different than my first playthrough. Wish it was a little harder, but I'm just playing for the fun of it and doing all the stuff I missed my 1st time through.

I recommend playing on Very Hard or at least Hard, if it's too easy. I actually really like the difficulty scaling so far. I play Skyrim on Legendary mode, but it's nearly impossible to kill anything at the beginning of the game, which makes it such a slog to get started. So far in Cyberpunk, enemies are dying just fine, I just have to be much smarter about my engagements.

For example, I would use items like my grenades in only about 5% of engagements on most difficulties. With a katana build on Very Hard, I start every engagement with a couple of grenades and specifically choose the best damage for the situation.

I also just started using the monowire as a compliment to my katana... holy hell. The monowire is badass.

I'm really looking forward working through these perk trees I have never used in my last 2-3 playthroughs. The only negative is not being able to quickhack. I have always been a netrunner hybrid build of some kind in every playthrough because I think it is such an awesome mechanic.

I've been thinking about making the switch to the monowire... I don't like and never really use the mantis arms. I'm sure I'm not using them right, but they just don't seem that effective compared to my Katanas.

I too also miss the hacking ability. I really wish they wouldn't completely eliminate that part of the game when you go with the other cyber implants.

I realize I am way late to the party, but I recently upped my PS membership so I could stream games on the portal, and this was one of the many options. This is the first game in a long, long time that keeps calling me back, begging to be played. I haven't had a game in a while that I would fire up, blink, and lose 2-3 hours in the evening. Great time. That being said, the leveling system is EXTREMELY COMPLICATED.

Lol? How is it extremely complicated?

Every level, you get an attribute and skill point. You have to level a particular attribute to a certain point to unlock that tier of that specific attribute's 3 potential skill trees. Skill points you also get from leveling, but can also find skill point items or get then through the various challenges.

The only thing you really need to think about is your attribute point allocation. I would recommend planning this out because of the finite number you find. I think you only get one respec per playthrough of your attribute points.

Your last paragraph is the essence of my comment.

You will basically get enough attribute points to get 3 main attributes to 20. Then distribute across the others based on what you want to play.

The thing with Cyberpunk is every tree is viable, and it's not a hard game, so you aren't really handicapping yourself. There is not real META for the game. Just throw points into whatever seems fun. Then respec your attributes after you've spent 20 hours in the game and have actually decided the gameplay you prefer.

I wouldn't stress about leveling in Cyberpunk. It's not a Souls game. You won't brick your character.

I've been off and on (between other games) making my way through my 2nd playthrough. The PS5 Pro upgrades brought me back again.

Enjoying it so much more this time. The game has been massively improved and I understand it better now. I'm not trying for 100%, but I find myself doing everything this time... Also purchased the dog town DLC.

Game is friggin awesome on the Pro.

The DLC is worth a GOTY award on its own. Enjoy it.

I still need to get the DLC. I finished the main game a few months ago.

FYI, I think the DLC has to be accessed at a certain point in the story. I'm not sure if you can play it after you complete the main game... You might have to start up a new game to access the content.

It gives you the option to start a new game at that point if I remember correctly.

Oh. Well crap. That's out then.

I believe that's correct. I played through Cyberpunk again to get to that point, I think after you meet the Voodoos or somewhere in there. I think the DLC is great but I really don't like Cyberpunk (base game) that much. I didn't bother to finish my 2nd play through once I finished the DLC.

Just started this game as I saw it pop up on gamepass. Only four hours in or so but man this game is pretty damn cool. Everything so customizable it's a bit overwhelming to start - we'll see how it goes!

It's definitely all a bit much at first... or heck, it was a bit much my entire first playthrough.

But since then they have really added a lot to the game, cleaned up a ton of rough spots and even did a full overhaul of the upgrade path system. I'm having more fun with my 2nd playthrough.

My only advice to a new player is that the game isn't hard, so don't worry about doing something wrong that will make it difficult for you. Do whatever you think is fun! The main story can be beaten relatively quickly, but if you really like the game and enjoy the city, then by all means take your time and do a ton of side quests and gigs... they are all really well done and it really opens up the world.
Lathspell

Yeah, definitely do the side quests. They are all multi-faceted and layered. Hell, even the "fetch" quests you get, after starting the DLC, are freaking awesome.

As I stated earlier, you can get 3 of your attributes to 20, so that's really the main decision you need to make. You can reset the different skill tree points.

There are usually many ways to attack each question. The hacking mechanics in this game are my favorite way to play. I love when you progress your character so much that you are a freaking Edgerunner, taking out entire bases only through hacking.

Best way to not let Cyberpunk overwhelm you is to only focus on one quest line at a time. Look at each one as it's own little mini game. On your way to each point of the quest, address any crimes in progress or cyberpsychos you come across.
