The sound track alone would be worth the price of admission.

It would be multiple cities/areas in Texas just like GTA VI has Miami, Tampa, Orlando?, Florida Keys, and the Everglades

Man I want to play this game. I played the hell out of Vice City and IV (and the original). Never played V and didn't play the other one set in LA much.

But alas I'll probably never play it.
I had Vice City, back in the day. I also tried IV one time. Both never really gripped me.

I tried V a couple years back and played every quest possible. That game was by far better than any previous GTA game and is the main reason for my high expectations of this one.

GTAV along with the masterclass that was RDR2? Yeah, this is going to be the most technologically advanced game ever - at least from a fidelity standpoint. Red Dead Redemption 2 looks better than 90% of Playstation 5 games still.

Rockstar is definitely just better at this than everybody else.

The trailer looked too good to be true... but I guess it really shouldn't be a surprise considering how good GTA V still looks and, as you said, the fact that RDR II might still be the best looking game almost 7 years later.

I can only imagine the despair and vile internet comments this delay is going to cause.

I can also imagine next November when none of those comments will matter because everybody will be too busy buying the $*** out of this game.

https://www.take2games.com/ir/news/rockstar-games-announces-pre-orders-grand-theft-auto-vi

Base game $79.99 - Launching November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 computer entertainment systems and Xbox Series X|S games and entertainment systems for $79.99, Grand Theft Auto VI features a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet

Ultimate edition $99.99 - The Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition amplifies this experience with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story, and will be available for $99.99

No physical disk - The physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, will be available starting November 12, 2026 to support pre-loading.

Grand Theft Auto 6 features a "single-player experience" at launch, with no word yet on any new version of GTA Online.

I was looking forward to this, but personally I don't like that there's no actual physical disk version, I know I'm in the minority but I still like to buy physical media.

And there seems to be a lot of content locked behind the $100 version.

My gaming backlog is big enough I'll probably wait for a sale on this one.

The price point is interesting because we are starting to see price variances in big (non indy) games.

Expedition 33 came in at a lower price and was a huge success. A game like GTA, IMO, can come in at $79 and I think most understand why. Unless I'm just forgetting something, GTA V and RD2 were rock solid at launch (didn't require tons of patching) and, at the time, were unmatched in their level of world building & detail. Heck, I still don't think anything has matched RD2.

Assuming GTA VI launch goes smoothly and they once again kill it with their licensed music, $79 is an easy asking price.

Exactly. Knowing the history of what Rockstar gives consumers with their games, I have no issue spending $80 for one of their games. They're at the top of the mountain, when it comes to stability, content, and support.

Especially contrasting with companies like Nintendo, who want to charge the same price for a repackaged nearly 30-year-old game with probably 10% of the amount of content.

I agree. In fact I miss the old days where games came with a novella of an instruction manual with fleshed out lore, rogues gallery, and item descriptions along with a full foldout map.

Physical media is cool, but it really doesn't mean anything with a game this size that's just gonna be a full download anyway. They can make it unplayable for you down the road unlike the old console physical media. At least getting a physical game case for the shelf is still possible if you're into that.

$80 singe player game with content locked behind a $100 ultimate edition is a special kind of bull**** if you ask me.

Will buy the $100 version on day 1 and then "work" from home all week

More info about what's included in the Premium Edition and the Vintage Vice City pack are up on their website: https://www.rockstargames.com/VI

Physical media is practically pointless these days when there are gigantic day 1 patches.

One of the reasons why I upgraded to the PS5 Pro (before the price went up) is in hopes that they will give us something above 30 FPS in GTA VI. Even a 40 FPS mode for 120 Hz screens would be a big plus.

Not holding my breath, but we'll see.

Also, no one can truly remove your access to anything. Movies, tv shows, music, and games are all piratable, if they start trying to change them for "modern audiences".

They would literally have to nuke the internet.

$80 to $100 for hours of entertainment over 5 to 10 years is a decent value

Exactly right. It costs me well over $100 to take my family to a dinner and a movie these days. Especially at the same time, I'm paying $20 for ****ty chicken tenders or whatever while we watch some woke Pixar BS.

I will play this game for hours and hours. And have a blast

I've been super stoked about this release but the closer we have gotten the more disappointed I am hearing about all the new "features". The biggest issue from my perspective..... no physical disk. Too much risk doing a download copy only. Had my PSN account hacked a few months ago. Had to create a new account. If I didn't have physical copies I would be screwed because PSN was absolutely no help.

Hah. Well, we certainly hope not, but it's definitely possible. Lord knows we've seen multiple developers... the big guys, former kings of the modern 3D gaming machines... get infected with the wokeness that killed their products.

But Rockstar has yet... YET... shown this to be the case. They'll get the benefit of the doubt until they don't.

Also, there are a ton of guys that make a living trashing everything for even suggesting "THE MESSAGE". I enjoy some of their videos, but sometimes they go way out of their way to point out wokeness that really isn't there.

I'd say the only real advantage for pre order is you usually get to install the game before the masses. Then it's playable as soon as it's live. No risk of download servers crashing

Agree. I could see buying a game early a couple days before it releases to preload (and AFTER the review embargo is up). Anyone preordering GTA6, a digital only game, 6 months before it's release date isn't working with a full deck.

This is the only way I pre-order games. No point in spending the money that far in advance. GTA 6 should be a pretty safe pre-order though. It's not like some games where you're not sure if it'll be a flop or not.

I was never able to get into GTA V. Liked all the earlier ones, but V just didn't click. Can't remember why because that was so long ago. Actually so long ago that I remember it being a midnight release and there being a line at GameStop for it. Pretty sure it was the last midnight release I remember.

Will wait for reviews on this one. Speaking of which, have they released any actual gameplay from it yet or was it just the trailers.
