The first record you can get for camp is phenomenal. It reminds me of being at a Cirque du Soleil performance. I immediately turn it on everytime i enter camp. This games score will undoubtedly win some awards this year.

Lies of P also had an excellent soundtrack and they had collectible records as well in-game. Music is so important to games, just like in cinema.

Yeah both the music and sound effects are critical to this game's success. The soundtrack is near perfect for this game I think and the sound effects (during enemy attacks) are key to dodging/parrying IMO.

Gonna try this out tonight for sure - thanks for sharing. Been trying to get through Avowed but hasn't really taken to me yet. This may be a good change of pace.

I felt like I should have had a bowl of popcorn ready when I started this game. Probably only game I've played that I haven't skipped over cutscenes.

Hope you enjoy it. Don't feel bad if you need to lower difficulty. I'm no leet player and don't mind admitting I'm playing on story mode. For me story is too easy most of the time and the normal mode is/was too hard. Wish they had more difficulty adjustments you could make.

I'm not sure how well this game will lend itself to repeat playthroughs but knowing the enemy movements and sounds is key to getting the best parry/dodge results.

Just finished the hidden arena. The 4th dude was frustrating as well with the misdirection punch that gets me every time LOL

It was the log one. I thought the spinning ones would get me but I lucked out and got it pretty easily. I haven't found the other ones yet. My girl Lune is ready for the beach now!

No, it's not. It's a Japanese style turn based RPG with some action rpg elements.

I 100% agree, **** that game. Took 30m to beat all 3. So many inputs eaten and flying ****ers going right through my attack fire to hit my boat. Plus its 100% rng to win. If you dont get strings of them next to each other rather than left, right, left, right, you wont win.

The biggest complaint I have about it is the third one. The camera is in orbit in a satellite around Mars so it makes depth perception very difficult.

Finished the game yesterday at level 91. Did almost everything. Just have two fights left that are tough. 45 hours total so far. What an awesome game. Top notch story, top notch gameplay, top notch voice actors, and an unbelievably good soundtrack. Sandfall knocked it out of the park.

I just finished Act I over the weekend and have been absolutely loving this game. The new Final Fantasy games haven't really been what I've been looking for in an RPG, but this one is right on the money.

In some aspects it is. Style wise and difficulty at times as well as the fact that you will die often are comparable. I die far more at random optional bosses than main storyline bosses.

With that said it veers off into JRPG territory because you can make your characters into demigods capable of oneshotting everything in the game, which is very unlike dark souls.

Learning how to parry or dodge is an absolute must for this game. You will not survive without learning how.

Just for listening enjoyment. This game has to win best soundtrack everywhere this year.

It's the greatest game soundtrack I have ever heard and that includes Doom 2016 and Nier Automata. It's blown me away. It should be up for a Grammy for best classical album as well, it's that good.

I kept wondering if it was Charlie cox doing the gustave voice, but didn't think it would actually be him and sure enough it is.

I really don't need to add more games to purchase this year... Hell I still need to do a full playthrough of Hogwarts. Jesus being old sucks.

Big tip i just learned that made playing sciel way more fun. Her weapon that auto applies 10 fortell with any sun attack does not actually require that the attack apply fortell to start with. My opening now with her is the skill that "spreads" a mobs fortell to all other mobs and let's her go a second turn. This auto puts 10 on everyone. Then immediately follow up with either her strong multi hit single target attack or her weaker hit all multi attack, both consume fortell for massive dmg boosts. With high crit and lots of dmg pictos, shes wrecking things now on turn 1 without taking 2-3 turns to ramp up.

Just finished Act 2. just wow... this is certainly to be in my top 10 of all games ever.

While I think things will change in the next act, combat has gotten too easy and I'm playing on expert. After a couple of tweaks to my characters, just plowing through everything. I don't ever see an attack twice to figure out the pattern since the boss dies after only a few rounds.

But I like the build diversity. So maybe different play styles for every character. Game definitely deserves a replay once the story is known.

Just wrapped up chapter 3 this week. Woo boy, this story... Cant wait to pick it back up tomorrow and Friday.

Also just finished Act 1 and wow I am impressed. Character art, animation and voice acting is superb. All the little details in the animations really bring the characters to life and make them feel real. Story is compelling and original so far with a surprise to close out Act 1. World can be a little confusing at times with the lack of identifiable landmarks to anchor your navigation but the world is beautiful.

Overall a great experience so far. Looking forward to Act 2.

Finished the game. The story is fantastic. Probably one of the best I can remember.

However, has anyone else's playthrough become stupid easy as the game progressed? I wonder if it is because I played on expert. It was a pretty hard at first but towards end of act 2, I felt very overleveled. Nothing was hard. All bosses and side bosses were easy and never died again.

Also overpowered with the the skills and pictos. Became hard to die. Actually ended up just rushing through the end game without fully exploring the continent once I finished the main character side quests.

Ending grades for me:
Story A+
Music A
Gameplay B+

Might either try to explore the rest of the continent or go into NG+ and somehow intentionally handicap myself. Anyone have any suggestions?

That seems to be the only slight about the game is the balance is a little off but at least it's off in the players favor and not the other way around. I personally like the power fantasy of just absolutely demolishing fools towards the end of the game with a build I came up with without looking anything up.

Also go find Simon. He will put you in your place lol. I have beaten literally everything but him.
