Wasteland 2 is a great isometric RPG (as is Wasteland 3), and FF6 is an all-time classic. Haven't played most of the others, but I have heard great things about Slay the Spire, Cyberpunk, and Dave the Diver.

Wrestling empire and deep rock galactic are very fun.

FF6 is tied for GOAT RPG to me - only rival is Final Fantasy Tactics.

Partially nostalgia, but I've replayed it plenty of times as an adult and it holds up.

Slay the Spire is a great casual game - highly recommend if you like card based roguelikes.

Frostpunk

and of course Hades and Valheim if by some miracle you don't have those yet either.

Totally agree. I'd recommend you trying Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter that just (re)released.

Also totally wish they'd do a HD2D remake of IV and VI. Sigh.

I saw you recommend it in another thread - I don't have time for a new game right now but it's on my list.

Shockingly, I did not buy anything from my Wish List. I actually already have Indianan Jones that I got free when I bought my new PC and I bought RE4 last week on sale ahead of this sale. So going to stay put.

FTR, I've only looked at my Wish List. I haven't explored my Discovery Queue or anything new that's out there.

There is still hope I will max my CC.

Dave The Diver is one of the best come-out-of-nowhere indie games I have played.

Deep Rock Galactic is fun, and more fun if you play with friends.

Cyberpunk 2077 is awesome as is Wasteland 2.

Already picked up KCDII on PC (already had it on PS5), among a couple other indie games.

And anyone who hasn't played Cyberpunk 2077 should be buying it. And make sure you get it with the Phantom Liberty DLC. That DLC is absolutely fantastic. Cyberpunk has become a top 5 game of all time, for me. It's one I go back to every other month.

I play co-op with my 11 year old son and we have enjoyed so far:

Grounded ($19.99 on sale) - survival base-building, honey-i-shrunk-the kids -- This is a complete game and an absolutely amazing experience. One of my favorite indie games of all time.

Grounded 2 (early access, rough cut, wouldnt recommend anyone new until game reaches further maturity)

Deep Rock Galactic - Rock and Stone! dropship resource gathering game with an extract element.

Valheim

Raft

For those of you that like scary survival-base building games that sometimes make you sh*t your pants:

The Forest and Sons of the Forest (the sequel) are incredible with great story and gameplay and you can get the first game for $5 and the second for $9.

Hades is a great cheap Roguelike and the Sequel is great and polished as well.

I hate survival games but for whatever reason I fell in love with Valheim when it came out. Maybe one of my favorite games ever.

Only reason I stopped playing it is because it gave me tendinitis in my damn forearms forever killing my desire to play games with K&M again unless it's just point and click.

I know that feeling. Had the exact same thing happen to me with Bannerlord. I felt like my left hand would never get unstuck from looking like a claw.

It always seems like a game I would love to get lost in and really give a strong chance. But the three times I've tried playing, I would get bored on the first planet. Maybe there's a "hump" i haven't gotten over yet, or something.

Have you played this since they've made all of the updates? I've never played it but it sounds incredible. I just have the same concerns you've shared though.

Separately, I see their next game is an open world game that takes place on a world map that is literally the size of planet earth.

That is hard to even fathom.

Last time was around 3-4 months ago, I think. Again, ive barely played so I wouldn't take my review as legit. Its very possible there's a hump to get over i dont know ow about.

Looks like they've added a major update since then where you can build your own custom ship.

That's been exactly my fear. I am trying to actually be good these days and not just buy games on a whim and clog up my hard drive with stuff I never touch. Been wanting to break into a good survival grind though and I bounced off RUST and Valheim pretty hard. Though I know those are quite different.

I was a hair away from backing Star Citizen years ago. Glad I dodged that bullet but made me even more wary.

Again... i never got to those higher levels of being able to do things. It was the beginning game loop that just didn't grab me. I don't want to collect resources and mine elements on different planets.

It's probably just not for me. Obviously, millions of people love it.

I found Subnautica to be of the similar vein, and I actually really enjoyed that game. So there's obviously something about No Man's Sky that wasn't doing it for me.

However, even saying that, I would probably still buy it on sale. For $24? It's at least worth 3-4 hours of entertainment to decide if the game is for you.

I hear ya. I skated right over this game years ago because it was a disaster. I just keep reading great things about how the devs have put their soul into making the game what it was originally meant to be when it was released 9 years ago. I almost want to buy it just to reward their dedication considering how rare that is these days.

That's where I was when I got it years ago, all the free updates and snagged it on sale. I've enjoyed the hell out of it over the years in spurts. They have added so much to the game and along with it, variety.

There is grind, but it gets less so if you're upgrading your stuff. Make some money and then you can buy whatever you'd need instead of having to mine resources.

I haven't played for a bit but seeing all the custom ships people have made is making have the itch to pick it back up.

Edit: Internet Historians The Engoodening of NMS is worth watching. I'm also eagerly awaiting the Light No Fire game.

Light No Fire has been on the wishlist for over a year now. Maybe one day...

Civ VII is 30% off now. May finally pull the trigger. Too bad BF6 drops next week so my money will be going there instead.

Dave the Diver is unique single player fun. 2D platformer, huge value for price.
Reading this forum sometimes is like people that can't speak English well trying to differentiate between a "booty call" and a "butt dial".

I'd read reviews before pulling the trigger. Civ VII has gotten some pretty mixed reception.
