Hey guys, I don't frequent this forum much, but wanted to run something by yall because I am stumped.

I just put in a new Netgear Orbi WiFi 7 mesh system and having an issue. I am very satisfied with the WiFi performance, but the wired/ethernet speed is crazy slow considering all the other parameters. Here is all the relevant details I can think of. Please let me know if there is something missing here or anything else I can try, or if it's just what I have to deal with.

Cat6A cabling throughout.

Speed test at the router (done through the Orbi app) is showing over 2Gbps, almost 2.5Gbps.

WiFi speed test on my phone is showing like 1.5Gbps, sometimes a little over that, like 1.7-1.8Gbps. Clearly the speed from the ISP is there.

WiFi speed on two different computers is showing 600-700mbps.

Ethernet ports on the router are rated at 2.5Gbps.

If I plug in the Ethernet cable to my computer it drops down to 250-300mbps. WTF?

Verified with similar results on two different computers, (both computers a relatively new), plugging directly into the router with a short cable to bypass switch, docking station, long cable runs etc.

Is there something I'm missing here? I feel like the wired connection speed should be AT LEAST as fast as the WiFi speed, if not more, since the speed at the router is showing over 2Gbps. I'm also concerned that the wired/ethernet back haul connection between the router and the 2 satellites may actually be slowing down the speeds at the satellites rather than making them faster.

Any ideas or input? Thanks!

Non-gig port on your computer forcing the speed down or have you confirmed the cable you're using isn't an issue?

This speed isn't out of the ordinary, depending on the wifi standard/antennas that your PCs are using. Can't say for sure unless you know the wifi specs

As for the wired speed only being 300mbps, i don't know.. Check you cable, update your ethernet controller drivers.

I'd make sure your terminations are correct from jack to jack.
