Just an FYI to anyone using Bitlocker for protection. It has been cracked.

The story behind this is wild. Guy tried to report a few serious vulnerabilities to Microsoft and they just ignored him. In response he posted it all to GitHub.

Why does this not surprise me. I've never loved MS by any means but was a willing user for many years. They really do seem to be ****ting the bed lately in pretty much all areas from design to business philosophy and everything in between. Enough that I am slowly morphing into a Mac user and that is something I'd never think would happen.

I had a user contact me this week about pulling a desktop out of storage from 2014 and its asking for bitlocker key. IT changed the BitLocker system since then and the data is long gone, so I sent him the hack and told him to find someone in engineering and see if they can get his data.
