Preference points submitted for CO. Having issues logging in for my daughter for her points and may have to call tomorrow. Not sure what's going on…

Edit- good friend who is up to speed said no brainer for Unit 61 elk.
I've hunted unit 61, 3 times now. Twice with my wife first rifle. Once with a buddy archery. It has gone downhill a lot in the 10 years since I first hunted it. There are great elk there, but they are fewer and further in between.
I have 21 resident points and didn't even consider it.
Hopefully will be in the flat tops for early rifle mule deer.

Going for deer, I'd hunt 67.
Spent 11 days there in a 2nd season hunt. Between scout and hunt days, we easily saw over 100 bucks.
Was holding out for a shooter, so went home to eat the tag. But saw soooo many deer.

You will spend a lot of time glassing and lot of time hiking in that country. It is not forgiving.

All that hard work my boy did getting his hunter ed certification the night before applications were due paid off. We're hunting elk together in October in NM Unit 52. Muzzleloader. Whoop!

I tried with my 11 year old this year but couldn't get the online application to work. It kept recognizing me and not my daughter. I called CPW and put my number down for them to call me back after 20 mins on hold and they never called back and I missed her application. NBD for now but I want to start her next year for sure.

I drew NM Aoudad at end of Feb next year for 32/36/37. Initial thoughts are to hunt 36, but I have some time to figure it out since it's more than 10 months away. This one will be completely new to me, so I have some learning to do.
Struck out twice so far….come on WY but don't really stand much of a chance.

Still really appreciate your help Hoyt. Learned a lot from your tips that have helped in other units since then.
Utah draw results are out. I'm headed back to Utah to hunt desert muleys in mid-October. I didn't draw last year, so I'm really looking forward to spending some time in that beautiful part of the country to try to track out another big boy. It can't get here fast enough!
I drew archery deer tag in Utah, North Slope zone and my daughter drew youth deer same area.
If anyone has good info for that area I al all ears. At least I get to scout for my daughter.
Both of us came up short in WY and currently neither of us have an Elk tag….sad. Looks like I am volunteer guiding for a taste of it.

Was in 77 for Rifle 1 hunting the ridge along the 76/77 boundary in the Nooch. We got skunked on the mountain and there was no sign. All the elk we saw on our trip were along 84 near Chromo on the highway 7600 el. driving into Pagosa in the middle of the night. My CC hit yesterday and was all excited until I remembered that all I did was PP. just a $100 charge for a moose I'll probably never be able to shoot… might want to rethink my strategy and just put that money towards a moose hunt in Canada/Alaska.
